I have nothing against a tumbling list but problems/questions would probably apply to either list. At first I was really for it but I'll have to read both lists anyway. I know most people start out tumbling and move on to other lapidary arts. After 40 years of other lapidary I'm doing more tumbling! Go figure!

I've kept up with this thread pretty well from the start and haven't made any posts yet. As a newcomer here, I don't think I'm old enough to be placing votes regarding now this site operates yet. Not that that keeps me from posting an opinion now! This is a rock tumbling site with a few interesting offshoots, like the wire wrapping or cabochon Boards. I don't do either but I like reading those threads when I have extra time. No telling what I might learn and the photos are always fun to see. Now my opinion on adding a separate Board to this Forum strictly for tumbling is that it would lessen the tumbling aspect of this site to just another "offshoot". If I have tumbling questions - and boy do I ;D - I post them on the general board. I believe that MOST of the members probably read the General Board. If I post a tumbling question on a new Board didicated to tumbling, how many members would see it? Many would still read the General Board, which would now be for ... what? And then move on to read the Board that is set up for their specific interest. Possibly choosing to skip the tumbling Board entirely because that may no longer be their main interest. I may be guessing on this, but it would seem logical that most members here came in originally because they tumble rocks. Many have moved on to other lapidary crafts. It's quite natural to evolve So, my point to this wordy post is that: Those that know the most about tumbling may now read this new (suggested) tumbling Board the least. Granted, some may stop in to help or look at the pictures and snicker at our newbie problems. But, to carry this to an extreme, it could also turn into a Board of the blind leading the blind. If only I were old enough to vote...

Ok all, I think the voting speaks for itself.
The morrow morning (today now cos its 12:30am) - my first task will be to move things about a bit - as much as possible in-line with what I have read here and in the other posts regarding this.
I can always change things back again if people dont like it in the main.
Cheers Mark.

Ok all, I think the voting speaks for itself. Maybe your magic admin eye is able to see the results, Mark, but we the ordinary people aren't yet Adrian

Hmmm ... Mark, I thought you weren't going to do anything because you have plans to make a new RTH forum with new software and a new server. I gues I misinterpreted your previous post ( ). LOL Since I doubt there will be a drastic turn-around in the voting ... right now 79% of the voters like the idea. The final tally will show in a few days. Thank you, Mark! I hope the idea makes a positive change.

OoOopps - I assumed the vote was finished there were so many votes. Yeah I doubt a day will make any diff - anyway I can put what I do now back so no probs.
MichealJohn, there are two ideas of mine which need doing, one is a new board for RTH, stored on rocktumblinghobby.com instead of proboards (this one is probably pointless as the proboards staff basically do all the work I would have to, and I cant take much on anymore), the other is a totally new domain with a forum on it which may or may not include rock tumbling......
