Hi Troopers! Jo sent me a fabulous box of good stuff! Lots of moon stone variations This combo does tricky things in the light A client of mine gave me some green onyx to craft a heart and a couple teardrops. My intention on the teardrops is as earrings. Not sure that will happen but she can decide. The heart tho--- came out stellar Keep on Shining ! Ed

Beautiful work, Ed! I like very much the set with green onyx, but the moonstone heart is also a beauty. I think you know by heart the process of making them, right? Adrian

Ed sent me a couple of A++ hearts in return. Perthite (Amazonite & Orthoclase Moonstone) with Natural Citrine from PA-- this is from material I sent him previously. and a beautiful lacey Agate (not sure of the name) Thank you Ed!! They're superb, I love them!! Jo

Ed, I am wondering if you take two separate stones and put them together. The blue heart you sent Jo looks like the same stone on both sides, but you had cut it in half. I have a stone that is naturally white on one side, and naturally pink on the other. Is that what you look for?

Holy poo poo that lacy agate is brighter than the moon and twice as beautiful. Smacked me right in the eyes big time. Well, most nearly. The tear drops are outa sight also. I never thought about doing ear rings with a groove but that is groovy. Jim

I have a stone that is naturally white on one side, and naturally pink on the other. Is that what you look for? Hi Pat Gluing 2 rocks together-- to make a heart for instance-- is probably an art I wouldn’t necessarily say I’ve mastered. When first started I had the concept of marrying 2 stones together to make a whole heart. Maybe a translucent/opaque combo. As this as evolved I see so many other possibilities. For instance the lacey heart for Jo was cut from one slab. The brown was spot in the middle of the slab. So I sliced that brown spot in half and reversed the sides. I got a border effect. Some times the effect from the front of the heart to the back are radically different. I also been wanting to glue the stones together back to back. I think that arraignment as lots of possibilities. But ONE of the reasons for gluing the 2 pieces together is to have a pre-drilled hole for the bale. But that cool feature came secondary. The original concept was always to make the 2 part heart and discovered the zipping of the groove later. O well I kind of went off Hope it makes some sense mostly

Thanks Guys ! Ya know I really feel like I’m mastering this heart think It took me a long time. Maybe 350 creation before I felt like I was really honing in. Nonetheless I’m almost giddy with how efficient the process as become, the grinding, shaping, forming, shining. There is still lots to learn (always) but now its more a matter of tweaking techniques and feeling free to try other design patterns. Heres’ one of my first rock’n hearts ever posted on RTH 2009 It was Mother day treat, I think forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?board=ccabs&action=display&thread=30528
