Helen, different log in name. Same method and style of attack. Go back to the old bull fighting thread, and the political threads around the same time. You'll see what I mean.

Politics are not my thing but I got interested in several of your posts mainly because of the courage, stamina and patience of one woman caught my attention, Helen. She has demonstrated her political arguments in an outstanding way considering the things she had to withstand in a group which is mostly republican. This is in a way like a David and Goliath type of situation. I’m pretty sure that there are many others with different political views that did not dared to jump in order to avoid the hostility of some. Put yourselves in her situation, would you boldly jump alone in a democratic area to expose your republican views and receive this kind of treatment? How would you deal with so many individuals arguing and provoking you all at the same time? Have any of you ever tried to analyze the reason why, and under which circumstances people get hostile and provoke and insult others? Yes, it could start with frustration but demonstrates many other things as well. Well I’m glad it’s over now, so I’m hoping that our country stay together and works in peace. I also want to thank the fair players and Helen for her courage and valuable information during the election.

Thanks Dora:). These guys can be mean, but once you get to know them, they're mostly good people:). I'm just one of those stubborn people who simply do not care what people think if something gets me riled up or I think the issue is important.
THIS election was the most important for the country in sooo many ways, not the least is the ability for the new President to select possibly 2 new Supreme Court justices.... who could overturn Roe vs Wade and set us back 50 years.
You know how Obama won? Almost every woman I know not on this forum voted for Obama. MANY of them had husbands who voted for Romney. Some were vocal, others just pushed the Obama button (and pm'd me).
We are not cattle, and this isn't the American Taliban. Our bodies belong to us, and it's a bigger deal than a man's CASTLE. The Republican onslaught of 'rape babies are a gift from God'... ummm... except for Paul Ryan (and I think there was shenanigans involved, his county in Wisconsin OVERWHELMLY voted for Obama), EVERY imbecile who had something to say about rape being OK was voted out of office. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but they aren't going to retain public office if that opinion involves taking 1/2 the population's rights away.
That's only ONE issue, but the deciding one for most women. If you knew NOTHING ELSE, this one was the reason to vote for Obama. So women did, and we won.
Everything else is talk and excuse and secondary issues. You do not try to enslave 1/2 the population, mothers and daughters, without backlash. Only misguided women voted for Romney, there was just too much to lose here for future generations.
And if Obama really was the tyrant the propaganda machines claimed, it would not have mattered, he still would have won. Slapping your wife, daughter, mother in the face to vote for a Party that PLANNED to enslave women is a losing idea, this isn't Iran and never will be.
Everything else was just arguing for the sake of arguing:P.

And! TWENTY of 100 Senators are now women. This is historical. I have no idea how many of the 535 House members are women, was too many to go county by county to check. But as far as I know... EVERY SINGLE woman who ran, Dem or Republican, won.
And that's why the polls were so skewed. Some women won't talk about it, they won't argue when their husbands talk about it, they aren't the ones picking up the phones for the polls. But they pushed that Obama button, and for every woman down the line, Dem or Rep, with the assumption that when the chips are down, and all the smack talking is over, any educated Republican woman will not actually VOTE against their daughters and granddaughters when they get to the polls.
And if those 2 Supreme Court justices are NOT replaced this term? It's going Democrat AGAIN. Men in power are STUPID if they think it doesn't matter, even if no one talks about it much. Yak about castles, guns, race, economy, blah blah. Our bodies belong to ourselves.

A bit one sided, aren't we Dora ? If you really have been following these discussions, and are not biased, you will have seen that Helen has dished it out too. She can be every bit as mean spirited as anyone else on here. And, if you really have been following this, you'll know that she hasn't been alone in her opinions.
And Helen. Yes, your bodies belong to yourselves. Take care of them yourselves. I see no sane reason why every other tax payer should also have to pay to take care of your bodies.
Guns, Race, Economy ?
#1 -- Guns. Do you think guns and our 2nd amendment rights aren't important ? It has long been said, "FEAR THE GOVERNMENT WHO FEARS AND WOULD TAKE AWAY YOUR GUNS". A disarmed citizenry are no longer citizens, they're subjects.
#2 -- Race. Your own party have been the ones consistently playing the race card. And if I'm not mistaken, you are the one who introduced it into these discussions by accusing certain members of being racist.
#3 -- Economy. At this point in time, the economy is the single most important thing in all of our lives. It effects every single person who isn't living off of the government dole. And if, as it very well could, our economy collapses, even the lazy on government handouts will be effected.
Suck it up girls. Hitch up your girdles. There are much more pressing matters going on in our country than your precious bodies.

Lol Don, I about dropped a load when I read Dora's post. Makes me want to go back and do some copy/paste action to illustrate the point. Waste of time though. However her comments were good for shaking me out of this sense of bi-partisanship I was slipping into. I went back and read all her posts, the sentence structures and use of capitol letters are very interesting. Hmmm.
As for little willrock, phoney account for sure.

I'm happy, at least we don't have to go through the agony of an election close enough to trigger recounts.
When one considers the wisdom of Churchill in his description of Democracy, and then pauses to remember that our elections are (for the most part) a bloodless coup d'état. Only in this form of governance can polar opposites vie for control of government without bloodshed. As long as people retain enough essential freedoms, it should remain that way.
"Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you." — Pericles (430 B.C.)

That's OK Helen. I had 2 big bowls of home made chili tonight. Now I'm ready to speak just like Obama. Really? Cool:). You want to freeze taxes on the middle class and raise taxes on those making more than $250K a year (NOTE: all the WHINING about 'small business', remember, this increase is on NET INCOME, NOT GROSS, AFTER supplies, overhead, expenses, and employees. If you are NETTING more than $250K, tough nuggies, you can afford to pay the same tax rate as someone making $75K a year). Sounds great to me:). Obamacare... I want Universal Health care like the rest of the civilized world already have (Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Norway, etc etc etc). If Obamacare starts failing, all they have to do is let healthy people sign up for medicare. It will prop medicare with an influx of people paying premiums who do not need the services. It will kill the Insurance industry perhaps, but I don't see why we need to pay a 50-70% premium for their CEO pay, advertising, political lobbying and forcing doctors to jump hoops for paperwork. HOW did Boner get re-elected? UGH.

Just dawned on me that you were implying that 2 big bowls of homemade chili made you a smelly old fart, not that you were full and happy, like 2 big bowls of MY chili would mean.

I was implying that 2 big bowls of my home made chili make me sound exactly like the BS spewing from Obamas mouth.
