We throw those aluminum cans away all the time.
Aluminum is hard to solder so fabricating would have to be done with piercing, forging, but Make something nice out of one can and save the planet, feed a starving child on Mars . . .

I made a solar window heater from soda cans. I'd like more information on that! An empty aluminum can weighs approximately half an ounce (15 g). There are roughly 30 empty aluminum cans to a pound or 70 to a kilogram. Some tips on melting cans: www.ehow.com/how_6382705_melt-aluminum-cans-home.html

A friend of mine has a son that made aircrafts, old biplanes, and ships out of aluminum cans. He is talented. He does not do this now. He said it was simple ! Well, not for me ! ! !

I watched that video and I figure a person could make that blob of aluminum into a very light weight shiny cab. Glue on a bail and a cool pndant

In the video he didn't get the aluminum hot enough. Most of it froze in the can as he was pouring it out.
Aluminum is the 2nd most malleable and 6th most ductile metal, so much could be done with the lumps from single cans.

I was waiting for the barefoot aluminum smelter dude to drop something hot. I remember when we were sand casting aliminum in Jr High shop class and the cricible was dropped sending molten aluminum across the shop floor. Good thing work shoes were required.

At this moment there have been 203 "looks" at this topic and only 10 votes, so let's forget having a contest. Still, I'd like to see what members can make from a single can - save starving martians and all that.

It is very simple to cut out the Coors logo with a pair of regular scissors, punch a little hole and put it on an ear ring wire. I made a few a long time ago but they did not go over so well. Where do you go to find women that drink Coors?
I do not know of any other logos that would work out as easy as the Coors but there are a lot of different cans out there. Jim

I was thinking more along the line of casting rings, pendants, parts for bracelets, something like: Even more interesting, as aluminum doesn't irritate the skin like brass does, would be to Anodize the finished item. www.ehow.com/how_4491882_anodize-aluminum.html
