atlanta.craigslist.org/eat/for/4677861233.htmlViking, Vibrasonic Tumbler Model No. VT 8 This has been on my local CL for over a month. Looks like a real beast, I just don't know anything about it. At this point I may be able to talk the person down if it is worth it.

Greetings [fantastic5] the VT8 is 2x 4lb hoppers, however the unit pictured is a 14lb hopper, also here is the Viking Vibrasonic Manual found here on RTH forums. Please check out my Sticky's below. -- Please click images to open larger images in a new Tab, same with everything that is Underlined! I currently have a 3lb Beach (UK), Lortone QT 12/66 (USA) rotaries & 2x Viking Vibrasonic (Diamond Pacific) (USA) virbrating tumblers, with Silicon Carbide grit F80, F220, F600, F1200, with Tin Oxide (1.0 micron) & Aluminum Oxide (1.0 micron & 0.3 micron) polishes. I hail from (The Barony of Seabegs) Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire, U.K, where aliens (15mb) sometimes come for a visit & about 4 miles west from that monstrosity & 7 miles west of this new monstrosity! Sticky's: their contents are resource information 1#: Vendors worldwide (2mb), 2#: How to use the forum, 3#: How to identify rocks & minerals, 4#: Save money on expensive grits & polishes, 5#: Aussie Lapidary Forum: Rock Tumbling Guide!

Thank you everyone for the replies. After looking at the information that you proved I agree this looks like a fantastic buy and I did speak with the woman last night on the phone. She actually doesn't live as close to me as I originally thought. That and the look on my husbands face when I said I might buy another piece of rock equipment . I already have a Lot-O and not nearly enough time to use the equipment I have. But the lady lives pretty close to jamesp, so I PM'd him last night and I think he is all over this purchase. At least this way I know I can live vicariously through his posts if he gets it.

Please keep the ad open to others that may want to purchase this machine. The Lot-O intrigues me and I have to keep up w/the Jones in Chattanooga Those Viking tumblers are fine machines, not many on the market this cheap. Lack of lapidarians drives prices down in our territory. Thanks for alerting me about this one.

The Viking is now made by Diamond Pacific. Industrial, heavy duty. Very expensive.

Could not for the life of me find an 8 pound Viking hopper. I hate to pass that machine up, I know how well those Vikings are built. It is old, and a piece of history.

You can make whatever size tub you want for that unit. I bought mine with two 6 lb tubs. I made one out of the smaller LP tank, 10lb, I think. The first one I made I spent a bunch of time and money lining it with a liquid rubber. The next one I just left as is and it works fine..............MrP

The old aluminum hoppers can be sent to DP and be relined with "Plastisol". Or you can buy adapter to use the Mini Sonic hoppers.

James----just go buy it !! (so I don't have to)-you can take that plate off and put two smaller ones on ( should already have holes drilled in the center) or get a 35 # or 50# barrel---the new ones are 10 times that price
