I'd like to know how you all show off the rocks you tumble. Right now mine are in three plastic containers...favorites, for friends, and they're ok. I really want to come up with a way to display them...I need ideas. If you could post pics that would be great.
Thanks, Andrea

One plate on the coffee table. I occasionally put a new batch in. The rest are under my son's bed in little tubs.

Storage of tumbles can be an issue. If I have too many of one kind the extras go into gallon size zip lock bags but I keep quite a few out on display. I'll start with the ones that stay on our main floor. The wicker basket is full of my favorites from every batch. I always pull out 3 or 4 from every batch that I wont sell. I think that basket is about 25 pounds now. This is my other tray of rocks that are off limits. about 10 pounds of lakers I did last year as a treat for myself for all my hard work. lol Dollar store tray and I use a lot of these. My kids use storage boxes for some of the rocks that they pick as their favorites. I dont think I have ever opened all of these to see what they have so this was fun. And last but not least the tumbles that stay on display in the rock shop. Friends and family seem to like the mini show setup when they visit Chuck

Jugglerguy Most is confined to the basement. Wife tolerates a few on the main floor but not by choice. Dollar store is great for all kinds of nice display trays. A tray on the table like yours is ideal but I don't know how you discipline yourself to only show that many.

Jugglerguy Drummond Island Rocks Both of your displays look nice....I keep looking for cool shaped bowls that I will put mine in and probably have them all over the house. I'm sure I will have one bowl that is off limits for my favorites. Every time we go to the store I see something that will look good with rocks in it. My husband and daughter think I'm crazy. Chuck, your kids have picked out some nice ones...what are the red ones in the fifth picture bottom left? Andrea

Thrift stores and garage sales are great places to find Granny's old glass candy dishes and larger bowls & vases for reasonable prices yet still look nice. Dust can be a problem though.
I hear the bottom of fish tanks are good too!

I'm really running out of room until I do some swapping or selling... I know where you can ship off those two big halves of Tampa Bay coral to make some more room.

I have a buttload of 10+ gallon rubbermaid containers stashed around the house and out in my shop, so many slabs and pieces of rough that I just keep everything put away pretty much LOL

I borrow my wife's vases as well as in Ikea cases. Nice looking display. I've seen those cabinets on IKEA's site but I couldn't tell if they are have big gaps between the panels. My fear is dust intrusion. How are they working for you?

My fear is dust intrusion. How are they working for you? Quite well. There is a gap between the panels but the dust is less than leaving them out in the open. The larger problem is simply not enough lighting. I added lights to one of them and will do the same to the other later.

I've got aquarium bottoms full of tumbles, glass containers on window sills, a wide tray full on my coffee table, candy dishes, bowls, baskets. thrift stores will have bargains on glassware frequently. Like bob I haunt garage sales, rummage sales, flea markets. Always in the back of the mind is a small glass container to put on a windowsill ( my terrariums and house plants all have rocks in them too) I look for tall and narrow rectangular glass vases, they fit on window sills and really let the light through for the translucent tumbles to shine. I just purchased a bird house kit. Guess what I will cover the walls of it with?
