Hey Jamesp and friends..... We have a setback in departure date! It poured rain for two days this week n then I caught the common cold so was slow moving. Plus the MAIN SQUEEZE, the lovely Susan has been staying in Chicago with her mother nursing her back to health. She will continue with that for the winter.
HOWEVER..... She came to visit for this weekend, yes my wonderful lady is here in Orrum Nc having coffee and a bad hair day! LOL
She also came to get Sadie Mae Monster the healing dog and attack Pug! Sussn says the way I camp and travel is a guy thing so Mr Mic, Mr Chips and Me, Mr Bill can go on a guys only excursion! LOL. We live rough folks according to Susan no one should be able to flush the toilet and fry egs plus make the bed without moving! Hey its a tiny lil truck slide in camper.
So now departure date looks like Nov 3. I will send James a update pm.
Looking like the Rt 40 west to Az. is going to get cold n maybe snowy? Any of yall know? Good time for you lurkers to speak up that live along 40 and give me some info.
Well that's it for now, gotta go fix the lovely Susan some stone ground grits, her fsv!

orrum, instead of I40 through Oklahoma you should take I20 through Texas and that will put you out in Marfa agate country! You should look up Teri Smith at her site terismithrockhunts.com/calendar/?month=nov&yr=2015and see if she has trips planned for when you are in the area. Just a thought! Good travels to ya! ~Roland

Thanks Rock roller but I never went the Rt 40 way. Looks like I might end up doing Rt 20 an 10 west again because I just can't seem to get gone!
Exasperating it is!!!
It rained Sunday, it rained Monday, it's now pouring on Tuesday morning. I can't pack and load efficiently in the rain!
Jamesp it's gonna be Thurs or Fri now...
When you are going on a journey of six months duration packing takes care and condideration. Espeacially when you are taking Mic the killer sooner and Chips the hungry horse! LOL
I will keep yall posted!

Ok here is a official information proclamation....
Rain has held up packing, part of packing is being able to hook stuff up etc. Not really good in a pouring rain!
Therefore departure date is unknown at this time!
Trip west route is known and has been changed to Rt 20 west due to late departure and not very happy Temps on Rt 40.
Soooo. Anybody along Rt 20 west to Arizona have a place I can park? Or a area that you know I can horse camp at?
Anybody wanna go hounding on the way?
Hey its l8fe, stuff happens. Just relax and land rolling! LOL

Well it was cloudy, hazy nasty yesterday and humidity was 90% but I trudged thru it and got a lot done! I should finish packing and loading today. That leaves 2moro for winterizing the house and barn and lapidary shop, plus I am leaving two horses here. The neighbors are goin to tend the two mares for me but I need to do a few things to make life better for the mares and the neighbors. So Saturday will be spent with all that plus all that last minute stuff and hopefully....
Pull out Sunday on The Great Western Trip part IV !!! Yea here I come adventure, wildlife and the grandeur of what God made west of the Missisippi!!!!

I saw an interesting fact on facebook the other day about Obsidian. for one it can be the sharpest substance known. It can actually so sharp that it can cut between the cells in a surgury. it is still used in some surgurys today.
