Ohhh, yes. Who can resist those eyes.... My guys know exactly that I cant withstand them for long. Just stumbled onto this tread, reading through it is a nice way to start the day (instead of turning on TV).... I somehow always managed to have at least one dog in my life since I was about 5 years old, and strongly belief that companions like that make us better/kinder people in general. pphope for carma by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr Currently, we got three in the house; Lilo came to us as a stray one day, started playing with the kids and never left. That was nearly 14 years ago. Here with Krista (my younger daughter about 13 years ago) 13512226_1296808010346489_7193620809154806633_n by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr Now, a grand old Dame, nearly blind, and if not completely, at least selectively deaf, she spends most of her day in Krista's room where she feels save. Lilo pp by Kainzer Kurt, on Flickr She had always been afraid of loud noises, but now sits at the door, looking at fireworks and lightning, seemingly in wonder...... Her last litter produced three puppies, and in anticipation of certain eventuality of Lilo having to leave us, we decided to keep two of the pups. Thanks for sharing, Kurt kk. I love that last pic you posted. I also have strong feelings about anyone that would abuse animals.

Best regards, Kurt You sure have a beautiful family Kurt and love the fur babies. I always favored Shepherds and for 30 years always had a big female one at my side. Miss the girls now that they have passed but don't have the heart to lose another one to old age. Just breaks your heart. Hard to believe that a 180 pound dog can be such a sweet baby.

I love these pet/dog threads, too. I love dogs. I love them so much, that I won't have one. I don't have the room to have a med to lrg dog, which is what I would want. It would be cruel to the dog, IMHO, to keep them so cooped up. Walking is fine, but no yard to romp in is just unacceptable to me. I have had many dogs in my life and I believe I had my forever dog soul mate. I'll never replace her. I'm sad even thinking of her loss.
Now, we just have Cat. I think it helps that he is part dog, part crack head. (Since he came back from the vet, he is addicted to his new food like crack. Drives us crazy!)
So, yeah, I really enjoy these threads.

8 year old rubber puppy Maggot. and sister wife Gi Gi Bed too small, no problem Big dogs can really take over the furniture and then you cant find a sitting place. When you sit beside them you either get a big groan of dissatisfaction or a dog fart. Bad doggie.. But no matter where you are or what kind of a day you have had, they're always there to greet you.

Those first two pictures are hilarious! Bianca(alias Maggot) has seizures so she has to take phenobarbital. She gets quite relaxed, but she was layed back the first 5 years before the drugs came on the scene.

I/we have always been lucky, health-wise. I never needed a vet for any of my dogs. And I'm rather sorry to have allowed my wife to talk me into "Fixing" the three. Since spaying, the girl has shown quite a few smaller irritations, and the boys are behaving somewhat differently too. Might be pure coincidence, but somehow I belief the procedure weakens their health balance.
Currently, we got way too many dogs here in the village, and quite a few are brought to the vet for regular checkups. Somehow, I seem to see an increase in health problems in those dogs (quite a few got problems with their balance and seizures are rather common), and they seem to be more aggressive in general in contrast to dogs that are kept liberally and without constant visits to the vets.
Somehow, my general distrust in doctors, has extended to vets over the past few years.

Broken rib from laughing Randy. You nailed it. Been teasing wife and her kennel entourage girls for years that they have bred a boneless dog. Brilliant minds This guy made a fortune w/dog photography. Wife busy taking confirmation photos, been hounding her for years to follow Wegman's path.

The Far Side is pure genius. I wouldn't expect that dude to fit in with the rest of us. An odd one, for sure. jamesp, the indignity those dogs of his endure for those photos. Mine would bite my face off, if I tried to dress them in costumes and take pics. They can't sit still any longer than I can.

Some hounds can be so lazy. You can manipulate them like carcasses lol. Especially the boneless ones. Ole Wegman has been doing those photos a long time.

some pretty funny stuff. Here's a few pictures of ours: Kokopelli, our 9 year old BC, ready for her first Dock Diving event: A neighbor asked us to watch their dog, never came back for her, Lizzie is a Morkie: Don't know how I missed this post. That's an awesome action shot! Good looking dogs. (Belated)Thanks for sharing.
