Ha ha I just returned from my criminal rendezvous Yep the helicopter was there I should have brought MrRockPicker with me ha ha Na Na Na all was mellow. I got my pictures. A nice lady was looking at me kind of exquisitely as I was shooting the picture of the private planter. Told her they were unique cacti. I had to slap my hand not to filch any of the stones. But I wasn’t successful! Got myself 3 nice ones! Darn planters were everywhere on my walk. No self-restraint. Must remember Kant Categorical Imperative Or the modern version on job inventory psychological testing: Is it all right to steal a paper clip from a huge corporation? No! Suppose everybody did? Then AT$T and that would be paper clip less/ That would affect the markets Stocks would drop Panic on Main street Bad for business So I just limited myself to 3 stones. I may even return them With a sign: Private Landscaping Planter Please Don’t STOP to look at the ROCKS NNO No No NO SIGNS !! That would go against a popular rock tune of ours What gives them the right? Mostly

So the guard (Larry) and you (Mohs) were in the courtyard. Where was your backup (Curly)?

Ed, Ed, Ed, you were simply in the wrong place for planter perusal. Now if you were in San Francisco or Los Angeles, you could have sat on the planter edge and shot up with heroin, tossed the needle in the planter, smoked four hooters, looked at the pretty rocks, peed on them to wet them and see how they'd look polished, and then took at dump at the guard's feet and pitched your tent to sleep. No one would have done a thing, and,if you stayed awhile, you'da probably got a welfare check to boot.....Mel

Ed, you are a man after my own heart. (see what I did there?) I have a very healthy disrespect for most authority. You know, when they're cool, I'm cool, but God hates a tyrant and so do I. You were wise to back down, there was a time when I wouldn't have and I would have been in trouble. I see you have matured, too. Been giving this thought I can see how this subject may not make members who are in positions to maintain order real pleased Something occurred in elementary school that put me off on monitors. Don’t know what was exactly what. Is it natural to be rebellious? Is it natural to be a monitor? I guess the answer is yes to both It was my fault. I didn’t handle the security guard question correctly I should have been more measured But that been a big problem of mine I’m good with easygoing but some one gives me what I think is grief or criticism. I lose it fast. It a bad habit! A weakness. I can't seem to overcome. I often wonder if I had 3 wishes what would they be? Given this plenty of thought. 1st was to be able to control sleep patterns 2nd fast wit in difficult situations which translates to ability to close a sale 87% of the time. Got to have a challenge ! Haven’t decided on the third wish. Maybe it should be … to know it before I die. Ha

Ha Ed.......more than likely has something to do with Italian DNA.......can speak from my heart and my head...sometimes it comes out the wrong end (ass). More of the "maintain order" type.....also a product of my up-bringing.....never had a childhood, always given unreasonable expectations and over whelming responsibility......oldest of 6 kids......being the protector of Mom & siblings while the Pop's was away........it's all related to the "poor immigrant chip on our shoulder" heritage we suffered/experienced up until the 1970's....before our generation finally crawled out from under the madness and wised-up (got educated)....and the American society no longer saw us as minorities.......lol

it applies here ha ha remohs I translate that as "miserable pig"......but have heard it used in much more profane and graphic context.....like when used in conjunction with other profound verbs/nouns and adjectives....if you get my drift........Just may apply to your recent circumstance.......lol

Mrrockpicker would have your six. Partners in crime against the bourgeois, rent-a-cop hiring, landscape rock owners need to stick together. Walk softly, but carry a mighty (split) pea shooter.

I love a good story. You're a good storyteller, and this one piqued my interest. You were offended that the security guard took an attitude with you and asked you what you were doing, implying that he thought you were up to no good because of the way you were dressed. Then you went back and stole some of the rocks, proving that he was actually a very good security guard. Then you reassured yourself that his accurate perception was void because of his authoritarian attitude and because stealing a few isn't really stealing. Then you posted the story here, presumably seeking affirmation and to demonstrate that what you did wasn't anything to be ashamed of. I'm not taking sides or pointing fingers. I get being offended. I get that taking the rocks isn't going to bring down civilization. I get that you clearly understand the fine philosophical aspects of your actions. I get the satirical effect (I hope) to share the story with your peers. What I don't get is bashing the poor stiff who did exactly what he was being paid to do, who probably dislikes his job as much as any of us, who aspires to greater things but is stuck where he is, and who (above all else) was 100% correct in his assessment of your intentions and was trying to save you from yourself (just a little satire of my own ). Great story! Disclaimer: I am not in law enforcement or private security.
