thanks kskid! its 5 in the morning and only have 1/3 of my 1 brain cell engaged. your analysis is honed in O and I really enjoyed your writing on the electrical junction box Ed Well kind of waking up But that analysis is so honed in Excellent! Personally it been weakness of mine Determining people intentions known to take things to personally Must remember it’s not personal its business Life can be like clash of wills try to keep my own consul Inevitably though—life’s structure social engagement ect is going to cross Aristotelian in the sense that human nature is political/ social don’t deny that. Try to be remain smooth in the wave clash Best I can do….

Yes, some security guards are officer wannabes. Others are experienced/qualified officers who could find no other job. Did you notice if there were surveillance cameras in the area? If so, then this guy was probably putting on a good show for the camera. You could always put some rocks back in the display, lol. An even trade.

I like to carry rocks with me that I can substitute. But it's even harder to explain adding rocks than taking them.

I love a good story. You're a good storyteller, and this one piqued my interest. You were offended that the security guard took an attitude with you and asked you what you were doing, implying that he thought you were up to no good because of the way you were dressed. Then you went back and stole some of the rocks, proving that he was actually a very good security guard. Then you reassured yourself that his accurate perception was void because of his authoritarian attitude and because stealing a few isn't really stealing. Then you posted the story here, presumably seeking affirmation and to demonstrate that what you did wasn't anything to be ashamed of. I'm not taking sides or pointing fingers. I get being offended. I get that taking the rocks isn't going to bring down civilization. I get that you clearly understand the fine philosophical aspects of your actions. I get the satirical effect (I hope) to share the story with your peers. What I don't get is bashing the poor stiff who did exactly what he was being paid to do, who probably dislikes his job as much as any of us, who aspires to greater things but is stuck where he is, and who (above all else) was 100% correct in his assessment of your intentions and was trying to save you from yourself (just a little satire of my own ). Great story! Disclaimer: I am not in law enforcement or private security. I wonder if the guy hadn't acted like he did, would Ed have taken the stones.... We may never know.

My working hypothesis is that all the rocks will remain intact although the downtown area is exponentially growing with condo & town homes i just don't think that many people peruse the planters
Even by the landscapers Beside the center is Phoenix premium lawyer’s offices Those dudes pinch pennies They minimize landscape service by doing desert landscaping
Yet
If they catch me privatizing their planters I’ll be up a rocky creek with out a Ladmo bag …mostly

Would enjoy hearing how it turns out. My guess is the upgraded stones won't last long...and I'd love to see the security guard's face if he notices the replacements.

God has spoken to me. He has told me it is my god given right to pick up stones. If I get caught he said it is on me. He will deny, deny, deny. Vic
