Ha Ha more BS so sick of it decided to take the light rail. Go to the Phoenix Library On the way-- figure I stop downtown -- have a slice of pizza at Papa Tillio. Disembark train at designated stop A major courtyard filled with Phoenix business folks taking breaks or enjoying a slice of Papa Tillio's . But not today! Apparently Papa Tillio went out of business. So I walk up to the plate glass window to peer inside. Yep empty space. Dang!! I also glimpsed a security guard glancing back at me. So what to do? I got 12 minutes wait to till the next train Dressed in shorts. Best clean shirt, blue duffel bag full of books. Certainly not a businessperson. Its shaded in the courtyard. Few people are about smoking, scanning mobile devices, chatting. I walk over to big planter. Ah River rocks!! Really cool river rocks. About baseball size. Well rounded. Hint of blueish if they were wet. Pick one up. Examine it. The banding. These are unique. They must be sedimentary. Sandstone texture? Pick up another one. Examine. Think this could polish. Not to high shine. But it would make a unique pendant…. “Sir, How are you doing?" That what I hear behind me. This is trouble Always is. turned & say in short hesitation (I just knew it was that wadheadguard) “Fine. Why do you ask’? “That private landscaping” his reply “So I can’t look at rocks” ? “Its private landscaping" “How you doing ,,,” I ask He gives me that all knowing I’m the authority grin of shit But before he could reply I said: “not so good- cause you have shitty job!” Then things escalate! And I’m thinking: Dude you have no idea at how effing deadly accurate I am at Throwing effing Rocks! This idiot guard and me are going to end up someplace he doesn’t' want to be ! And I don’t care! But better angels prevail as I remember Jeans words: Stay out of trouble. So I backed way. Deescalated the situation best I could. I’ll be back for the rocks. mohs O I had an enlightening time the library !! its a marvel at lights and shadows happy summer solstice ,more on that later

Next time wear a business suit. Tell him, you're thinking about changing out your landscaping.

Such an adventure. Thankfully I have never found any good rocks in areas monitored by security guards. Agree with Don, on the changing your landscaping. Then you could have asked him who actually did the landscaping and if he had their contact info. Would have loved to hear his response to that one.

Thanks everyone for the comments. But wait there more ! All I know is things are getting to overly monitored for my tastes To many procedures. No trust. That fine. It may be the only way this new emerging world can operate. But I don’t care for it. I’m so glad not to feel pressured about having to make a dollar anymore in the workforce. It was never the most pleasant experience. Yet it’s gotten progressively worse, I think, Plus I’m pissed about not getting this part-time job I applied for a couple months ago. Went through a month of correspondence by internet. Phone recorded robot interviews/ Asking all kinds of questions. Finally I got a personal interview. That went well. I was taken out into the warehouse and shown the procedure. All was thumbs up. The next step to employment was a drug test and 20-year background test. I went & peed in the bottle and filled out the extensive background information online.. Weeks go by. Finally I get e-mail from the company. There was a discrepancy One of my dates of previous employer was off from the official record. Could I explain the discrepancy? It seems like I was off by a couple weeks of when I stated a certain start or end date. The date discrepancy wasn’t even in my favor. Ya know… I'm not the best record keeper. I operate on my own freaking recognizance. Been in the same place for 20 years. So I wrote back apologizing for the discrepancy and give precise dates and reason for my foo pah. A week or so later they wrote and reneged on their employment offer. Chumps! Hell I don't want to labor for a bunch piddly ass pickiune fools. Save myself a lot of energy I make fun of it. But it really is the first time, for the most part, that I been denied in the work world/ May have something to do with age. That the unknown factor O well save myself bunch energy Save it for another go at peak Amazon Ha!

I was taken out into the warehouse and shown the procedure. Don’t know what the “procedure” entailed, Ed, but most of the assholes in the White House failed that level of scrutiny.

¡Ay, caramba! Ed mohs , so glad you heeded my words and stayed out of trouble! An altercation with a security guard paid to protect landscape rocks could go sideways in a hurry. Most rent-a-cops have a huge chip on their shoulder, 'cause they don't have what it takes to be a real cop. Used to be when we collected rocks out at Ocotillo Wells, it was no big deal. You weren't supposed to harass or take any animals, tear up plants, or collect downed wood. Believe they also included rocks as a natural resource. Those were the rules, but they weren't enforced. Now they want you to leave those 400+ billion rocks there for the next person. Lock everthing up, keep it safe and "save it.". Do you think the few rocks that come home with me destroy the desert any worse that the ATVs? It is an off road park, after all. Funny how the rangers could each interpret those rules differently, be pretty easygoing about it or be a complete dick. Ranger Nancy would have you dump the sand out of your shoes before you went home, if she could, while Ranger Joe tells you, help yourself, just don't take home the whole desert. Just a few rocks for personal use , it's not like I'm selling them, jeez. I have to admit that I have never pilfered rocks from a fast food drive thru, lol. Don't let the turkeys get you down.

Ed, you are a man after my own heart. (see what I did there?) I have a very healthy disrespect for most authority. You know, when they're cool, I'm cool, but God hates a tyrant and so do I. You were wise to back down, there was a time when I wouldn't have and I would have been in trouble. I see you have matured, too.
