Nice! I love the last one with the reflections. I think you redeemed yourself. And, I think your pix look great!

Nice job on that obsidian. It really is impressive when you get a whole batch piled up like that. Way to stick with it. Perseverance pays off.

Those turned out great! Pics look good, too, except for a few that are on the blue side.

Those rocks and photos look great. I am usually not a fan of outdoor tumble pictures but obsidian is my one exception. For most tumbles it is too hard to control the lighting conditions outside. For my tumbles I am usually trying to avoid reflections that hide the rocks patterns but with obsidian those reflections are the best way to show off the shine.

Chuck Yep, first time trying some outdoor pics. Sun was much too bright yesterday as we had to take them earlier in the day before it rained. Actually have some indoor pics that came out better, just wanted to try something new. Definitely wouldn't do it for everything. Al

Nice rework. A lot of valuable knowledge for the future, too.

I can't wait to run some snowflake and mahogany obsidian, but I know I have much to learn first. Yours look amazing!
I also need to improve my photography game, so I'll be looking to this amazing forum to learn more.

Wait a sec. All done in a rotary? Nice job. To clarify- first time was all rotary. This time was rotary through 1000AO, then polished in the vibe we added since the first attempt. Would have put them in the vibe sooner but there was a line of stones waiting to go in and we wanted to keep these by themselves. Al

Super shine, great job! I've been grinding out a few cabs with some snowflake but also want to run them by themselves and don't quite have enough yet. Plus I still have a vibe on my wish list, but I have run some mahogany obsidian through my rotary tumblers and had some success so I think I'll be able to do it. These give me something to shoot for...

Inspiring! I have yet to try tumbling obsidian, but after looking at yours I think I'll give it a go.

Inspiring! I have yet to try tumbling obsidian, but after looking at yours I think I'll give it a go. After seeing all of your work here I'm sure you'll have no problems. A couple of things that I think helped a lot: 1) This was a 100% Obsidian batch so I did not have to worry about anything else. Thickened up the slurry, plenty of cushion and ran it slow. 2) Spending more time in the shaping stage to soften as many edges as possible really cut down on the chances of bruising. Al

Al, Thanks for giving me the link to check these out. You did an amazing job! Can I ask how long you tumbled each stage and what grit you used? Jsson
