Conniving and saving for a slab saw. Where can they be found used? A gentleman near me has a 14” asking $1,300 seems a bit steep to me. Like to keep it as low as possible and get a good blade. Something with auto feed...

Craiglist FB Marketplace Ebay
pretty much anywhere
Do some research
Trust me 1,300 might not be that steep

I agree with Ali, if the saw is a quality brand with the features you want (auto feed), $1,300 might be a great deal. A 14" saw is a great size. Also, asking price is just that, cash always talks.

That’s a nice saw! I am in several groups on FB for lapidary equipment sales. I’ve seen some good deals, but nothing near me, or worth shipping. Are you part of your local club? There may be some folks interested in parting with stuff, and may cut you a pretty good deal. Throw in some blades, rocks, etc.

I might have a deal for you. I have a slab saw maybe 14 in made by Rube Goldberg. Will have to think what I need for it.

Too cold for me up there. My folks used to live in WI . It’s a nice state, but I can’t do cold like that. It was 55 here today, but yesterday it was 75!

There was a discussion on here some time ago about slab saw prices. Seems the baseline was about $100 x blade size in inches for used saws. More if it's in really good condition, less if it needs help or you're lucky enough to get a really good deal.

Looks good enough inside that I'd buy it even if it didn't have a motor or blade. But then Robin would have me buried in it... .

Seems cheap for such a big one. If it were near me I’d buy it
