I have some of this stuff but it sure doesn't seem like it would take a polish. Very cool looking stuff and I am just wondering lol what to do with it.

Hey afterburnt , I didn't know about Utah Wonderstone so I looked it up. Here's what it said when the question was asked if it could take a polish: "Wonderstone is kind of porous, so it doesn't "take a polish" (meaning, it doesn't really get shiny) very well. But the smoothing of the rocks in itself is worth doing, because it sharpens the colors and bands so well". So your instincts were right; I would tumble it.

I've only worked with the Nevada stuff, so I don't know how relevant this is, but I've found some will polish and some won't. Even stuff that came from the same hole on the same day ranged from taking an OK polish to basically chalk. If you've got some of the denser stuff it might do OK - more like polished marble, definitely not like agate forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1100723/thread

The stuff from Vernon is pretty stone, but I haven’t had luck polishing it. Same with the wonderstone from Salina. Again, pretty colors and patterns, but not really a subject for polish. I’ve done really well polishing the wonderstone from Fallon, NV, and some material from Oregon, so it varies a lot.

Assuming you have big pieces, I would bust them up into 25% large, 25% medium and 50% small. Tumble them with only rhyolite. My guess is that tin oxide would be.the best polish.
Wonderstone can be amazing. It takes the right touch to get them polished though.
