When you pull rocks out of polish and see some of them didn't shine, how far back to you take them before polishing again? I have a 3lb barrel full of rocks from a few different polish barrels that didn't polish well, I'm thinking about starting them back in 500 then back in 1000 before trying to polish them again.

I ordered some stuff from Madison Wi. a few days ago. The tracking number shows it went from the sorting facility in Madison, Wi. to the sorting facility Oak Creek Wi. that is 90 miles east of Madison and from Oak Creek Wi. to Beloit, where I live, which is 77 miles NE away from me, for a total of 167 miles before the USPS brings it to my place. I live 45 miles from Madison. Kind of goofy it had to go 122 miles out of the way to get to my house and make another stop at another sorting facility.

Captbob, I am fighting this out with the post office. I have to wait another couple days for the post master to get back with me. When I filed the complaint with the national service center they instructed the local post master to delete the extra charges and to give me a call since the local F.A. wouldn't let me speak to the post master when I was down there.

It's not "an overflowing crock of piss and moan". I was charged a certain amount for shipping, I shouldn't have to pay another $7.25 for shipping because the post office won't do anything about it or because the seller screwed up.

Well, I went down to the post office today, the woman clearly saw the envelope wasn't altered in any way. She did say that since he folded the flap a 1/2 more than it was supposed to be that makes it a parcel and not a flat rater. If you look at the pictures in my first post you can see it wasn't altered at all and the only tearing was from me opening the envelope. In these next pics, the first one is how he had the flap folded with that sticky tape that comes on it. Notice how he folded it below the second red line. The second pic is how it should have been folded, between the two red lines. The thrid pic shows how far off he was with his folding the dumb flap, 1/2 inch off and they want to charge $12.20 for shipping because some fat ass lady says that 1/2 inch makes it a parcel. I called the national customer service line and the woman there filed a dispute for me to the postmaster at my office that they dismiss the extra charges, they have 72 hours to get back to me. If the seller on ebay won't refund me the extra shipping charges because of his mistake I will file a dispute through Paypal.

Jeremy, Where do you work for them at? I used to work for ABC Express years ago before they changed their name to Blackhawk. Ken Hendricks the one that started ABC, I have a few stories of him way before he started ABC.

Today I got a small flat rate envelope from guy in Utah, couple nice slabs I bought from Ebay. I had been watching the tracking number all week. It said on the 23rd that it was out for delivery. Didn't get it. Christmas eve it said it was on hold at the post office but they did deliver a few other boxes and some mail. We live in an old farm house about a mile from the city so we get rural delivery so once in a while something gets screwed up. The flat rate envelope is two day priority, for $5.75 anywhere in the country. Slabs weighed only 1.85 pounds and that was with the 6 ounces of free rocks he threw in. Now the part that gets me is it was on hold for extra postage due. The rural delivery driver taped an envelope on my package saying I owe another $7.25! Trying to say the shipper only paid $4.95 for the shipping.. Below are pics showing the stuff. I'm heading to the post office Monday morning...

Tony, get a hold of me when you get back. We can work something out for slabbing. Fish, sorry you don't think there would be enough rock in it for your time. I guess you didn't see where I said, "or we can work out some other kinda deal." Plus I pay for shipping to and from. I didn't think 10 pounds or so of slabs was a bad deal for some time and "wear on the blade". Good to know some folks like Tony are still out here.

As some of you know, I have been on this board for years. I got side tracked from rocks for a couple years while I got stuff back in order. I got rid of my 18" slab saw, my Frantom unit and a bunch of other stuff. I found a flat rater in my storage unit full of Woodward Ranch agates, plume agates and a few others that a good friend on here sent me. I need these slabbed up so I can cut some cabs. My proposition is, I'm looking for someone that will slab these up and I will let them keep 1/4 of the slabs or we can work out some other kinda deal. Most don't remember Tmorris and all he did on here to people. I don't want a repeat of Tmorris or the guy in Michigan that ripped off Snowdog. I need someone that is a "standup" person that everyone trusts on here. If you aren't close to southern Wisconsin, I will send them the flat rate box and even pay for the shipping back to me. Here is a pic of what I have and need slabbed.

Found this in a box I had stored away with other rock stuff... I think its a type of dopping stuff you mix together. It's a powder.

For about an hour when after cutting that one special rock into a nice shape that you are proud of, can't wait til it's finished and you can show it off. It goes through all the steps of grit and plenty of pellets up 1000 a.o. you are so proud and can't wait to get them in polish. You open the barrel, rinse them all off real good and you find that very special cab broken. Yes, broken. 1/4 of the darn cab laying in the pellets along side the rest of the cab. Bummed out like a mofo....
