Why didn't you say you wanted a Van Gogh? Here you are edMostly an authentic Van Gogh for you too. (Just Print it off) Its called Sunflowers. If there is any doubt as to its authenticity I have also provided a old picture of it hanging above Vincents couch in his old house in Arles, and a certicicate of authenticity. Vincents livingroom

Sorry to hear you didn't get that great fossil specimin Geoff. $10 sounds more than reasonable. Here is a free one for you of equal quality to make you feel better. Just print it off. Actually when I get looking this one might be better, more detail on the head is visible.

The blue lace is a easy decision Don, Its seam agate so the pattern goes straight through. It looks the same on all sides so you just cut it so you get the most material. I have the same problem deciding with other rocks though, I think it just comes down to experience and luck.

Bought 3 rocks over the holidays, the first two I'm going to cut up but the Mexican lace agate at the end I'm planning on face polishing and putting on my shelf. I have never seen a piece bigger than this so I think its a keeper (17 lbs). I set them all on a rock and gem magazine for size comparison. Blue lace agate BC jade slab Mexican lace agate (17 lbs)

Flat laps are super easy to build, talk nice to someone at you local heating/AC store and you can probably get a old furnace motor for free. At that price if you mount it vertical and the bearings go eventually who cares, just get another. Just make sure it is not a air over motor (fan blows air past motor). Here is a video of the one I built, it has done almost 1000 cabs now on the original free furnace motor. Its not magnetic but should give you some ideas. I'm sure you can improve on my design but it works.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I'll have to do a little more research still but it sounds like The TV-5 is a little light. Guess that explains the price.

I have been thinking of asking Santa for vibe tumbler for Christmas, and I was just wondering how loud one is compared to a rotary tumbler? Maybe compared to the lortone 33b that I already have if anyone can be that specific.
I was looking at the raytech TV-5 in the Kingsley North catalog in particular is it any good or should I be looking at something else?
Thanks for any help
