Anyone ever buy anything off “wish” ? If you do a search for lapidary you get lots of stuff. Just not sure if they are reputable.
Thanks in advance

Lee, by pressure fit I mean it was tight enough going on that I had to hammer it in place. I used epoxy like a lubricant to get it on with the thought being that once it was cured it would be very difficult to remove between the tight fit and epoxy.

I have a 8" flat lap that I used for the scales Mel. The knife blade came shaped, credit for that goes to someone very talented in Pakistan selling on ebay. Here is a link to their Ebay account nothing up for sale right now but when they do again its sure to be awesome. myworld.ebay.com/sharpedgeshop?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

Its not too hard but I have been looking at getting my own equipment, starting to get a little bit of sticker shock.

Here is a bezel set pendant I did the other day with Ramona's help (great teacher). Its a local agate set in nickel silver.

Yup no silver in german silver (nickle silver) its nickle copper and zinc. Ramona told me it works pretty similar to silver though so its good to learn on. Mistakes cost less.

I was bored and playing with some wire. Started hooking loops together in a pattern like a necklace I saw the other day and ended up with a chainmail bracelet. Kind of fun to make just have to figure out a way to get some stones in there.

I would recommend a big volume. The saw I have has a very small volume and gets gunked up fast because of it . I have to change oil a lot. Unless you want to clean saws as a new hobby think big But with that said the blade doesn't have to go in deep, just past the cutting edge like The Dad_Ohs said.

One of the people in our club has been teaching me to silversmith. This is my first attempt. Its kind of basic but I'm just happy it didn't melt. Its german silver with a Arizona Jasper set in it.

Well no shine on broken pieces, no glittery spots and no mica I can see. The close up is shown wet so that what the shine is from. The critter is one of my rock roaches gingerkid. They are kind of neat but have never been a big seller. I think they maybe look a little too roach like.

Nope Randy, not for the vibe. I just like to cut them to general shape before cabbing. Saves the laps a bit. Here you go itsandbits, I think this is the right yellow. Its porcelinite.
