Well, I have finished putting the cabs in the settings. The necklace setting is a nice sterling silver but the earrings are only a silver coated base metal but it was all I had. Thought I had a sterling set but couldn't find them. Oh well, this will have to do. Took a picture outside in the shade and slightly in the sun but still couldn't catch all the flashes the stones have going o Thanks for looking! Fran

I finally finished a large cab for me. It is 2.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall. I cut the preform out ages ago and finally finished it up and put it in a belt buckle. Just waiting for the leather belt to get here now to finish it up for my husband. Thanks for looking! Fran

My husband reminded me it has been a long time since I have posted anything here. Just go lazy I guess. Didn't help that I had forgotten my photobucket password either. Finally figured it out so here goes. Hope I can get it to work: This is Peitersite cabs for a birthday gift for my sister. No matter where I went to take pictures or what I did, I could not catch all the shimmer in these cabs. Full Sun Outside Shade I will finish the backs a bit and 4 will go in a necklace and two for earrings. Fran

Hope you recover quickly. I have heard the first few days after are the toughest but after that, all is good and you should feel so much better. Take care! Fran

I love that material. I think I have always heard the sodalite with pink in it referred to as swirlstone. Always adds a bit of character to it. Fran

Congrats! I love my Genie but one thing I have noticed; not enough water spitting up to the wheel with just one of the geysers. After replacing the wheels far too early, I started using both on each wheel as I move along. wipe and/or rinse them before moving to the next tray and that seems to work great.

Thank you so much everyone! It is great to get some things completed!I still have about 300 cabs in different stages of progress sitting around my cabber that are softer so will have to do them one at a time on my machine. Gingerbread kid: I actually took them to 280 on the cabbing machine but could see the scratches in the center. Threw them in the vibe with a lot of ceramic filler(I have a bunch of old mugs I break up and tumble in a rotary for about 2 weeks to use in the vibe as filler) and started them in the 120/220 grit. Ran it 24 hours, added another tablespoon of 120/220 and water. Ran that for 12 more days adding water each day. Once I rinsed and washed them, they were ready for polish. Ran that for 6 days. This is the first time i left it so long and wasn't impatient. It paid off. Roger, you are right and thank you. That is Tee pee Canyon. I could not remember the name! Happens too much with me when I have so many cut out and being processed. Would be much better if I could finish sets as soon as I cut the preforms out. Just never works out with me. I have well over 1000 preforms cut and waiting to be processed...I keep telling myself I am not going to cut any more out until I catch up...that hasn't worked.
