I do have some turquoise rough for sale. I'm in Ogden, UT right now for their annual gem show and will/should be home Monday night. I can contact you then. Typing long messages from my yell phone is a pain. Or you can search back a month or two in this section of the RTH forum and find more info.

that is a tiny one! A tribute to your cab making skills. I love sunstone and all the feldspars. What will you do with it now? I will put it with the rest of the cabs I take to gem shows.

In the past two years I've gotten to know the owners of the Dust Devel Sunstone Mine near Plush, OR. Their booth is near mine in Tucson. This time, I brought home a parcel of cab grade sunstone. Not wanting to waste any, I decided to see how small of a cab I could cut. Here it is - .5 carat 4.7x6 mm. Anything smaller would not have fit on the dop stick. It's so small the little veil isn't visible. I'm surprised I didn't loose it polishing the back!

In Tucson this year, a friend of mine bought a 55+ lb. bucket of gem silica from Namibia. Since he was getting ready to drive around the country and didn't have room in his car plus he didn't want to take the stuff back to Brazil, guess who ended up with lot's and lot's of gem silica? Major score! Those are beautiful!! I would love to see a side profile shot of the first cab with the malachite (?). Looking forward to the test results on the material. Here are some more pixs of some different pieces. I just packed up the one with the malachite and a some others to send to my friend since he needed a few samples. This is a sample of the blue mysteryite with some gem silica (chrysocolla) on the bottom. I'm not certain it's ajoite yet it's pretty. Here's a cab cut from a portion of the mysteryite. Here's another cab but entirely different with more red (cuprite?) and opaque. I haven't sorted the entire bucket and don't have time. So this was just a random pick. I'm sure tare some other interesting pieces in there.

I'm breaking this rough off from the previous post forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/69673/post-move-rough-slab-sale. Radio (Arlen) wanted to buy a single piece and I agreed. So...... For the first and third pieces, it's around 2"-2.5" on each edge. The second piece is 2"x4"x1". The average weight is about 11 ounces (308 grams) for each piece. All of them show good color and webbing and are solid, highly agatized materials. $20 each plus shipping.

I sold my house last year and moved several times. During the shuffle, I realized I had way too much rough. Really not sure how that happened..... So I'm going to sell some so I can go buy some more Everything was photographed wet. First up - four pieces of Dino Bone. All solid. All highly agatized. All showing webbing. Nothing crumply. 2 lb 11 oz The three squarish pieces are all around 2" to 2.5" on each dimension. The other one is 2"x4"x1". $90 with priority mail included Next - a piece of hard to find Banded Hematite from Sweden. Should cut some cool cabs or for carving. 2.5"x2.25"x1.75" 130 grams $15 with priority mail included Next up - a piece of Mariposite(?). Not certain on the i.d. yet still pretty. From an estate. Someone did coat this varnish(?) that is flaking off. 2.5"x3.75"x.25" 137 grams $10 with priority mail included Next - a small piece of Morrisonite Jasper with pastel colors. 1.5"x1.5"x2" to a point 100 grams $20 with priority mail included Next up - a cute little piece of synthetic Gilson Opal. 11/16"x1 3/8"x1/8" opal only without the backing matrix. 5.6 grams $65 with priority mail included And finally - something really different. Natural Nacozari Turquoise in a brown manmade matrix. Cuts real easily and can be used for cabs or inlay. from 1" square to around 2.5"x4" 19 pieces total 414 grams $20 with priority mail included I also have some awesome serpentine, agates, jaspers, labradorite and more dino bone to list.

This year in Tucson there was a Moroccan dealer with four large fossil plates. Each one of them was identical to to the others. What an amazing coincidence in nature!
I regret not taking a photo of this charade. If you need more info, a good laugh or an insight into the shadier side of the fossil/mineral business, do an internet search for "Moroccan Fossil Fakes" or something similar.

I have some extra slabs to sell. Both parcels include Sonoran Cactus Jasper slabs from Mexico and Serpentine from Nevada. Sometimes the cactus jasper is sold as pistaccio chrysocolla and the serpentine looks awfully similar to seraphinite yet is harder. There are some fractures in the larger pieces of jasper. Each parcel is over one pound of material and most of the slabs are .25" thick. Both of these are easy to cut and produce some nice cabs or they can be carved. See the examples at the bottom. The slabs in the pictures are wet. Parcel #1 Cactus Jasper - 182 grams + Serpentine 352.8 grams The smallest piece of jasper is 1"x2.25" and the largest piece of serpentine is 2.5"x6.75" $20 includes sfrb priority mail for shipping. Parcel #2 Cactus Jasper - 198.8 grams + Serpentine 257.6 grams The smallest piece of jasper is 15.2"x2.25" and the largest piece of serpentine is 2.25"x6.25" $18 includes sfrb priority mail for shipping. Some finished examples.
