I have never seen anything like these ( I don't get out alot ).Gary, you are an artist.... ... and Amber, if you do decide you want one wrapped, I'd do it for ya', it would be an honor ( just wait till I get some decent wire, and who knows when that will be ) Chris

Everyone... thank you as always!!!! Working with these stones was so much easier easier than tumbled rocks!!!! This was my first wrap with cut stones, and I really like them. Now the shape wasn't the easiest to work with, but I got it . Tigger..... Yikes, that poor wing I'm sure it will work out well, I've super glued a few coffee mug handles on before, and they allways seem to hold well..... Can't wait to see it done... Deedolce.... I really want to see what you come up with, some of your stuff is pretty wild .....

Once again, thank you everyone.... Trust me, I wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for you all... and Randy's tutorial.
And I only make sketches to get a general idea of what I'm going to do, belive me, once I start wrapping I don't rely on the sketch much. I just use the sketches to figure out where all my wires are going really.

Randy.... yep, a million ideas, it's just too bad that I can't remember any of them . And Frane deserves the credit for the stone. kentuckyrocker... nah, it's not that bad. I just started with 3 wires binded together running strait up the back of the stone. I started at the bottom, wrapped one wire around the stone, binded the other two together, then wrapped a second wire around the stone, and each time the wires came around to the back I just bent it strait up and binded it back into the spine...... O.K. so that dosen't make any sense , sorry..... Frane.... yep, the stone isn't going anywhere, your stone is well protected... and that was my plan all along , yeah, that's it, lol!!!

I liked the way yesterday's wrap came out, so I decided to expand on the idea a little.... I think I found a very difficult way to make something that looks very simple... See, from the front it just looks like I wrapped a wire around the rock.... But.... the back shows something very different..... And I just have to say thank you to everyone for your kind words....I really enjoy doing these wraps.... and I appreciate your support!!!! Chris

Well, I pretty much just made this up as I went... no sketch or anything, just an idea.... then, I cut the cires way to short to do what I wanted ( again, I gotta' stop doing that ) so, everything after I did the bail was made up as I went.... I like it though... The stone is striped horse... at least I've seen it called that, but I can't seem to find anything to support that.... anyone care to chime in, feel free ..... waddaya' think? Chris

Well, This was what I got done last night...... Just about ready to put in the wings..... All right.... everything seems to fit nicely, I should be able to pull this off after all !!!! I was going to have little swirls at the bottoms of mine also ( deja vu anyone? ), but now, just to be different, I have another idea..... I just have to touch up everything a little... Randy.... that is awesome....Great job!!!! Lori... Amazing....legs, eyes, probiscus!?!?! Absolutely amazing...It will fly, won't it? akansan ... the copper turned out excellent on those stones... I love the way you kind of softened up the wings ( if that makes any sense ) Great job!!! Chris

Thank you all... as always.... but your being kind about the butterfly aren't you? lol... Yeah, I guess it is "something ", " cute " , " a cool idea ", and maybe even a little " neat "... he he he... But come on naturenut.... do you really like it?!?! just kidding, lol. If you do like it, would you like to have it? The person I made it for really wanted something in copper, so I'm going to wrap her something else... this is just laying here in a tin with the rest, so let me know.... Yep sitnwrap, " dripping with copper ", that's pretty much the look I was going for. I think my original design had a little more balance, but I do like how this came out. And Tony, yep... I'm a sketcher, even the little butterfly, but there is no point when I keep cutting the wire to short and end up winging it anyways... lol
