Remeber those earrings I made a couple weeks ago? Well, I finally made the pendant to go with them ... The cab in this one was actually made by my mother ( TanyaFrench ), her first one... I'm not sure what the stone is, but I think she did a pretty darn good job ;D. This one is done in 18 ga silver plated copper and 26 ga brass wire.... The bail is completely hidden behind the little onyx.... you can see it in this pic... Here's a pointless pic And, here it is hanging.... I will be making a different pair of earring to go with it soon... These are a little heave for my mom... so I gotta' come up with something a little lighter. I got an idea ...

Thanks as always ya'll!!!! I can not wait to see what you come up with. I also got a bunch of stones recently, I will have to take some photos so we can compare lol. Tammy Lol... I showed you mine, now you show me yours... ...wait, now that just dosen't sound right, lol ( at least not on this forum ) I guess that is a little bit of wire for you. LOL. For me, that is still a lot. Nice looking earrings. looks like some fun for you with those crystals. Oh, come on Amy... I know you can use up some wire too, lol Nice work & photos. How long did it take? karock Well, I made one while watching the new Footloose movie ( actually not to bad, if your into newer music... as silly as the original, no reason to remake it really... anyways ). The other one only took about an hour. Very cool bud, awesome job!! Great to see more of your stuff on here I just need to make more stuff to show, lol

Check it out, this is my first real attempt at earrings. Not quite perfect, but close enough... I'll probably make more like this, only uses a little bit of wire, and takes about an hour and a half each. 8 x 10 mm Onyx in 18 ga silver plated copper and 20 and 26 ga brass, with sterling ear wires. I also just got some fun little pretties to play with moldavite, everybody needs a little space glass aqumarine and spessertine garnet, rough tourmaline, and faceted tourmaline... too bad the pink one has a chip in it. I'm sure I'll be able to hide that so, no big deal . Now I really need to get wrapping ;D

Thank you everyone ;D I'm getting some more little faceted stones ( tourmaline ) next week, so expect more variations of this type of setting. And Paul, one of my wraps was loosely inspired by Arwen's pendant from Lord of the Rings... I was kind of sad when I sold this one Chris

Here's another crystal wrapped pretty much the same as the last one, but this time I drilled a little cone shaped divot into the quartz and set a little faceted garnet into it. Wire is all that holds it in, but it isn't going anywhere Oh, and this one is in sterling silver and gold filled wire. ( the pics didn't come out very well ) This pic is cool, it's sitting on top of a mini Mag-light...

Thanks as always guys!!!! ;D Boy, I can't imagine what these style of wraps would cost to make in sterling. Nice job on them, I like #2 the best. Well, I was going to weigh the stones before I wrapped the last one to see exactly how much wire I used.... but I forgot , doh. I'm keeping this one so it dosen't really matter .... But I would guess around $40 dollars worth of wire in that one ( more $ in the stones ) , and it's small ( about 2" tall ). You need to post more often bud, I always enjoy seeing your work. Awesome stuff! I know Randy, It's just so hard to find the time... I'm on here pretty much every day, I usually just have time to read though... GoRGEOUS!!!! Chris, you're a pro, through and through! I love seeing your work!! Oh Dee, I'm just playing with wire... I wouldn't mind being a pro some day though, lol. Uh, well, come on now. That's not just a wrap, and it ain't even jewelry. We need a section for Art here, these are definitely works of art!!!!!!!!!  Just fancy jewelry, lol.

Hey guys, I'm still around ;D... just hard to find time to post.... always lurking though .... Anyways, I have still been wrapping, of course ... I even sold a few more on Etsy ( I'm up to 7 now ), woo hoo... I figure I better show you guys what I have been up to. ****Also, remind some of you who you are up against in the Cab and Wrap Team Competition, ha ha ha This first pendant kind of turned into a big wad of wire and stone. It just didn't turn out how I expected it to.... It contains 3 varicite cabs, a tumbled piece of pet wood, and a tumbled piece of pink chalcedony. Wrapped in silver plated copper and brass wire. ... and the back... what a mess, lol. Next is just a small quartz crystal, about 1" long...I like how this one came out, I am going to make some more like this. I am getting some tourmaline crystals soon... This is also silver plated copper and brass. and the back, looks almost as good as the front. And this last one is my first multi-stone piece in actual sterling silver and gold filled wire. By far the most silver and gold filled I've used in one pendant ... Chrysocolla ( from Lori ), Opal triplet, and Ammolite ( awesome!!! ).... I still need to take more/better pics, but for now... Well, what do ya'll think?

Hey RTHers, I just have a couple new wraps to show... This first one is a half a snail fossil wrapped in copper. This one was a custom wrap and the person wanted to nice and simple, so this is what I came up with. I had a little fun on the back... It came out pretty cool. This second wrap is a little different... One side is pretty much just a basic woven border wrap with a neat little picture jasper cab. Wrapped in copper with silver plated copper accent. The other side is also just a basic woven border wrap with a white lace agate cab. Wrapped in silver with copper accent. Pretty neat, huh ? That little decoration at the bottom of the agate side actually holds the whole thing together. If you were to cut that the stones would just pop right out. I need more stones that are the same size.... Oh, by the way. I've been on Etsy for just over a year now, and I just had my first sale the other day... and my second on the same day, how exciting. The second one that sold was this one... Kind of hard to let it go . But hey, I could always make another, right ?

Thanks as usual ya'll .... I really dig how you do these weaved wraps!! This one does not disappoint either. Excellent choice of stones and shapes. The only thing in my opinion that could make this pendant better is if you evened out the wires in the #2(from the bottom) variscite cab. The thing that I have a hard time wrapping my mind around is how to manage what must be some very long wires used in the weaving part. How do you know how long to start with?? Gee Chris, thanks for noticing that... , lol....I knocked the camera over on the pendant when I was setting up the photos and I think how that wire got all whopperjawed. I saw it when I was editing the pics and fixed it, I'm just too lasy to take more . How do I know how long? Well, I don't really ... I just usually start with a piece about 6' and hope that's enough. If it's not, well, I've gotten pretty good at hiding a spice . There's actually 3 26 gauge wires in the weave that holds in the varicite cabs. But for that part I was just working off the spool. Problem was, the wire kept breaking. I was pulling a little too hard, but you can't tell so it's all good. I have to get one of your fire agates one of these days, I would love to wrap one of those ... Chris

.... All in one wrap. Hey guys!!! I finally got around to making another wrap. I got a little carried away on this one... I just didn't know when to say when . I started out just playing around with some of those little varicite cabs I have. I just wanted to see how closely I could set them in a line ( pretty close, actually ). So I wove 4 of them in a straight line. Looked good, so I had to figure out what to do with my little line of cabs. Well I had this thin odd shaped piece of flint from a recent tumble ( I still need to post those pics, oops ). I strapped that to the side of the row of cabs. Then I found a tumbled piece of amethyst ( I think I got it from Frane, thank you Frane ) that fit perfectly on the other side of the cabs, so I crammed it into place. Next was the bail. I had so many wires, it took me a while figure out what to do up top. I decided it needed an opal. So I took one of Pporky's little rough opal chips ( from the traveling rock box, thank you Pporky!!! ) and made a sort of woven cradle to hold it. Then I just tied off all the ends and voilà.... ...Just look at that opal!!!! ... And the back. Well, what do you think? Chris
