Nice stone and wrap. I have never heard the term "pedestal mount" in wire wrapping. What is that describing? Chuck So the wire is coiled under the stone, lifting it up high off the body, like a hollow pedestal

Nice wrap. The rhodo looks quite gemmy! It is very gemmy. Part of what drew me to it.

I don't know the name of this stone, I bought at Quartzsite, but of anybody can help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks everyone for the help. It is Charoite.

The more I look at it, the more I like the first one. 3 prongs is a good number and then the bail kinda makes it more balanced. I don't mind the larger prongs against the dark stone- adds interest esp when the prongs are so neat. Thank you

I like the shorter prongs myself, but it could just be that the round stone with only three prongs kind of threw my eyes off. The top two prongs were supposed to be a little higher on the stone making a triangle

So I am working on prong settins for my faceted smokey quartz. The first is Sterling silver and the prongs are a little too long for my liking. This one is a gold colored brass wire, which I think plays really nicely with the dark stone.and I got the prongs shorter toy liking. Thanks for checking them out.

This is a Valentine's gift request that I have been working on. The stone is peach alabaster, from Utah. The elk ivory is from my brothers elk. I had to teach myself how to carve alabaster, you can see I went a little wide on the inset. And the gold wire sets off nicely with the peach stone.

How does it attach to the tie? Interesting design. Peace, Rich There is a pin glued to the back.

Yellow mossy jasper. From the southern Utah area. Cut, polished, and wrapped by me. The wire is 21 gauge square with 18 gauge half round binding wrap.

Yellow mossy jasper from southern Utah, which has two druze spots that came through during the cabbing process. The wire wrap is Sterling silver square wire.

Love it. Ever considered using a darker wire for a wrap like this? I was told by some guys that silver is to feminine. They preferred bronze or copper for a more masculine look. I have used bronze and copper, but I love silver.

Nice. About how big is it? I to ponder on design of a more masculine look. It is hard. Nice job on your piece. The stone is about an inch across.

So I am trying to make something more masculine, this is a tie tack made from a tigers eye cab and wrapped in sterling silver wire. I think it will look rather fetching 😁.

Really pretty. I might have to give prongs another shot ... you make them look easy but I know they're not. You can do it!

Very pretty. I am jealous of your prongs. I cannot get prongs to look nice. Yours are perfect. Thank you Prongs are about all I do now. Practice will make them work out... I think

This pink opal reminds me of Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night. I think it's the darker pink and brown swirl on the left and the blocky brown "buildings" on the right. But maybe it's just me?

This is a Fire Agate, and it was given to me by a friend. This is a very dark example of fire agate, so I had to bleed out the picture to see the depth of the stone. This is wrapped in Sterling silver filled wire.
