That's a stunning Owyhee, bushmanbilly! No, I don't think it's cheating. But, I'm wondering if it should be called a tumbled cab? When I first started cabbing, Mr. Daryl Blair of Blairrock, kindly sent me a lot of beautiful tumbled cab pendants that he shaped with his saw and then completed using his tumblers. I like Drummond Island Rocks's method of adding the girdle and bevel after tumbling his cabs for his groovy grove wraps.

Welcome to RTH, sierra! Would love to see your gemstone collection!! We have a few faceters that participate on the forum, and I hope gemfeller sees your post. I think he was having a time trying to log onto the forum. I started collecting gems several years ago, mainly garnets and quartz gems with inclusions. Which tumbler do you have? The stones will be coated with kerosene, which is a common practice there. Very interesting, vegasjames, I didn't know that. I would love to have a trapiche emerald cab.

I. like John, was also confused by your use of the word moss. That is simply a very short pile piece of carpet Glenn... uhm, okay. Nearly fell off the couch in tears from laughing after reading this, captbob. Happy New Year, glennz01! ETA: confused, too, for a little bit.

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, y'all! I greatly appreciate everyone's kind words, and have missed everyone! rockpickerforever, although we didn't go out for dinner, Rick bought me a Google Play Store card so I could purchase some eBooks and phone/tablet apps. He also bought me a commemorative Shared Belief t-shirt.

jamesp, please ask your friend from Thomasville to show you the Big Oak next time you see him. The Big Oak in Thomasville, Georgia 329 year old Live Oak, and is one of the largest of its kind East of the Mississippi River. Photo: Carla Finley "The Big Oak dates back to circa 1680, which makes it one of the oldest Live Oaks in the country. The Big Oak is one of many historic landmarks located in Thomasville. The Big Oak was one of the earliest trees registered with the Live Oak Society. Registered by P.C. Andrews in 1936, the Big Oak was the forty-ninth Live Oak registered. At the time of registration, the Big Oak's girth was 21 feet 6 inches. Various efforts have been made to preserve this magnificent landmark in Thomasville. These efforts include the addition of support cables, the implementation of an underground watering system, an above ground sprinkler system, as well as an "on call" tree surgeon. The various support cables are intertwined about the tree in order to provide strength to the limbs, some of which are mere feet above the ground. "

spiritstone, I am so sorry to hear that the doctors have made the decision to amputate, and I hope and pray that Heather will stay strong and keep her spirits up. Have you and your family been allowed to go into her room so you may speak to her? Has her fever subsided?

I'm sorry to hear you got busted 2x this month for burning w/out a permit, jamesp. That's why we only burn stuff when it is raining or snowing. J/K, just being a brat. Did they give you a warning (citation) either time? 6 piles of wood is a lot to burn. Since they're probably watching you like a hawk now, please get burn permits.

Whoa, those are beautiful, Don, and looking forward to seeing the cufflinks. The patterns in the wood reminds me of the gold/red hibiscus flower. How thick are the pieces of the pet wood? What type of pet wood is it? I love them all, the bezel set pendants, and especially how your metal 'flows' with the outline of the wood in the pendants with the prongs.
