"Mom" went to the store...so someone has to keep a watch out the window for her return. He must've heard her mention steaks as she was leaving! Dang, but Trigger sure has a wide glide. ( I know, I should not talk, lol.) Was thinking of a costume something like this, but not quite right. Doesn't look like that thin thing would be warm enough for him. It's gotta be the warmer Lumberjack outfit and cap. I can just see him with a meerschaum pipe in his mouth, and of course the ubiquitous magnifying glass!

Happy New Year! My only resolution is to not make resolutions. Wishing everyone a healthy, happy, prosperous and rockin' 2023. hummingbirdstones Robin, I don't make those either. Its actually a terrible invitation to a let down. Don't need to be doing that at the start of the year.

Thinking back on the conflicts I have had with members of RTHHad no point, helped no one, solved not a singe thing, was a total waste of time for all involved. So, Why did we do them? My present understanding - It was the doing of our collective subconscious minds! Because conflict and chaos are just in our nature, 1dave. Just imagine what a wonderful world this would be if we could just work to get rid of the troubles, and just get along. To all those I've not said Happy New Year's to yet, wait for it ..... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!. Hope everyone had a great NYE celebration last night. It poured cats and dogs here, punctuated by morons racing around in loud meaningless cars, fireworks and gunfire, SMH. Until the next one, Love, Jean. Today will be a day of computer work if my brain is up to it. Have still got to straighten out bank records and payments (and overpayments, damn them) since this all started, Dec 5. Also have several new doctors that I need to fill out forms and get hooked up.. And that's what's up for today.

Good morning, Tela. We have had POURING RAIN here all night, interspersed with fireworks and gunfire. It's amazing how stupid some people can be. Wondering what the collection of rain water will be looking like in all the plumbing work today? It's too bad there was no time to haul stuff off before everything got dumped on. Good morning, Jean!
I just ran across that story and wondered about San Diego. Hard to complain about rain, I guess, but it does make a mess. That it does. At the rate the rain is falling, I see a risk of some flooding. WIll wait and see what happens.

The water situation is getting pretty scary out West.

Guess I'll kick this off, see if it gains any traction. Hell, I'll probably keep using it for my quick posts anyhow. Show us your little glimpse of heaven on earth that you found, I guarantee someone else is gonna dig it and brighten their day Here is one of my favorite parking lot finds.
Very pretty, Chad. I love those red stripes, and the gnarliness of it.

Well this Christmas was pretty low key for us this year. Both my wife and myself got the crud a couple weeks before Christmas and through the holiday. I'm on the 2 week tail end of it and she is close, although, she also wrenched her lower back half way through. All our holiday plans got cancelled - boo hoo! As for the big snow scare for the U.S., we didn't get much snow but got an ice storm (1" ice layer covering everything with snow on top) that shut down all surrounding cities a day before Christmas Eve day, but now temp's are back into the 50's and it's been pouring hard rain for 2 days straight. This coming week it supposed to rain 2 more times, once for 3 days and then again for 4 days straight. Next, comes the flooding in the lower areas and all small area creeks, etc. In addition to this the wind has been pretty blustery, so those of you located to the east of Oregon, get ready because here come's more moisture and high winds too! Yee haw! Below is the extent of our great snow scare, except for the layer of ice underneath that covered and froze everything solid. Looks pretty innocent until you try to go anywhere. The neighbors truck was blue when he pulled in before the ice storm happened and encapsulated his entire truck! Below is the extent of our outdoor Christmas light decorations this year for two reasons. First, I had a real nice lights in tube dohicky that I bought this year to string around and it looked pretty danged nice, except I forgot to take a picture of it. Doesn't matter anyway, though, because it came unplugged on the coldest night we had last week and when I plugged it back in it blew the whole thing out!! I would have taken it back for exchange but I was sick, so there's that. The only other thing we had was a very small section of misc lights we didn't use on the tree, complete with burned out bulbs all around. So I strung that around the outside door at least, even though it was short on one side and had several burned out bulbs. Yeah, we are "that house" on the block! So that's the saga of our 2022 Christmas season and all I can say is we are sick and tired of being sick and tired. Wishing you all good health in the New Year !! You got more lights up than I did. Me, too. Did not put up a single solitary light.

Christmas Morning I came down with Covid. This version hit my throat making it the sorest throat I have ever had,, but moving around to other muscle complexes. Back to the hospital I went and was Just now released. Symptoms include: Fever or chills Cough Ribs hurt to cough Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing Fatigue Muscle or body aches Headache New loss of taste or smell Sore throat Congestion or runny nose Nausea or vomiting Diarrhea Frequent urination Painful coughing More painful swallowing and drinking. Dave, first of all, your timing sucked. Christmas day?? Secondly, you did not listen to me, just went off looking for adventure. Glad to hear you are back at home, now. You were supposed to be making giant strides forward towards your recovery, not taking steps backwards. When I was first diagnosed with Covid, and I do mean for the first time, and went to the ER by ambulance, I was pretty much asymptomatic. No raging, painful, sore throat, only a slight fever, a mild headache. Some drainage from my sinuses and coughing, but none of that rib breaking coughing. I tested Covid positive, but was negative for seasonal flu. Thank God for small favors. No loss of sense of taste or smell. Bob had a bad sore throat the following Friday, he was tested, no Covid. Took a week to get the results back, though. So far, he is doing nothing more than going through Kleenex boxes and coughing, watching idiot idiot videos on YouTubes, like he always does, and watching the plumbers do their thing. My neighbor is a Covid nurse, she brought the Covid home, she and her son got it, her 80 year old mom got it. Her mom got pneumonia, but was treated with antibiotics, and came through safely, although she still coughs quite a bit. At this point in time, the biggest take away I have from this, is my hearing has gotten much more sensitive. I find myself cramming large orange earplugs into my ears. I much prefer the quiet while in the hospital, I was always getting up to close the door to my room! Too much noise and laughing and jabbering out there for my likes. Gonna post this before I fat-finger and lose this again! Dave, please take care of yourself and get well. Will be doing more praying for you.

I noticed the same thing this morning when I was logging in. White page before and blue page after logging in. Me, too. But at least it let me log in, then turned blue.

I was tougher than smart. Wood stove accepts 16" wood not 16.5 " and putting the word diagonally / in the stove over hopped up coalsw led to "fire point" and befor I knew it the sap from the for tree liquified and caught fire. I made the decision to run for the door of my home 850sq ft a frame like bungalow. Halfway thier I had to fight the urge to drop the burning wood as I could feel the fire burning me. But had I done that ide be homeless. So the brain told me as much in the moment and i held on and chucked it out the door with a subsequent er trip that night smh. jasoninsd Johnny, that is terrible! Now we need to send prayers after you. That certainly looks painful. Glad you kept your wits about you and did not burn your home down. I realize you were feeding a wood stove, but around here, it always blows me away how many people have Christmas tree fires, burns their homes up, kills their pets. No indoor real Christmas trees for me, nope!

I’ve found that people of all ages love getting a polished rock. It really brightens their day. A polished rock is a very good thing —- it’s like magic! Recipient is lucky. So is the giver. Pat, you absolutely must give some away, as they keep multiplying and expanding. And you make someone's day, week, month, year in the process. They become addicts, hooked on rocks, like we all are!

The intent was to provide revenue for the bills programs. It was not well thought out and stupid. These bills are loaded with stuff that isn't relevant to the purpose. Ullyses S. Grant promoted to general of the armies in new defense spending bill I like this line in the statement, " The delay creates a chance for lawmakers “to find a common-sense and permanent solution.”"Wait a minute, are we talking about the same bunch of lawmakers? "common sense" is not in their vocabulary!!! I personally think they will raise the annual limit well beyond the over-ambitious $600. Deciding or proving what is bill paying exchanges and what is profit would be(is going to be) a real headache. I read online that Americans on average cycle something like $61K through their bank accounts in a given year. Six hundred dollars? Yeah right. They will vacuum up everyone's private bank data, and, oops, make it public to criminals (oh, and the IRS as well) and other dastardly people. If the Feds don't get it, the criminals will for sure. Which is worse?
