She is awesome, Jean. Close- Rottweiler/Great Pyrenees. She's a cutie, but I don't see the Great Pyrenees at all. Well, she does kind of have a big head. I guessed GSD based on her markings.

Thanks, miket. I thought I could see Rottweiler. I had a dog once that was Rhodesian Ridgeback and Rottweiler. Their head shape and face say it all.

And here's Kai's buddy Remus. miket , I love how they both wear their Halloween costumes so well! Such handsome dogs. And your Doggy Day Care lady is super special, for all the fun things she does. Gotta ask - Is Remus a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix!

That's an awful lot of hounding you did there in just one day! Beautiful looking haul. Honestly, you have the best hounding nose ever. Beef is like a killer rock seeking bloodhound! He never comes home empty-handed.

I hear you, Robin hummingbirdstones. I just refilled our feeder, it was getting cloudy. The heat tends to do that. They say to place the feeders in an area out of the sun. Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me. Our resident Rufous hummingbird just told me he approved of the new juice!

You're welcome, Robin. Vince did what my husband would have done (make it, lol). I hope it was still available. Maybe I just should have sent an email to you?
Regardless, it is always nice to have the OEM part.

I had wondered why you were disappointed? Sounds like a great day, great finds and interesting people you met. Then I came to your answer, lol. I guess if you need to err on the amount of rocks you bring home, make sure to err on the "bigly" side.
Thanks for posting part of your trip, will watch for the rest of it.
Edit to add - Oh, and I am jealous that you got to meet Rob!

I just told Vince that next summer he has to do this! Don't forget to buy a red sharpie and use one of those yellow plastic flowers from a HB feeder. You have to wait until next summer? We still have hummingbirds, some are even year round residents. BTW, we are having our final (maybe?) taste of summer. It is currently 86 degrees on the patio. A bit warmer out in the sun.

I remember those little lushes sipping beer lol. Brilliant ! Like my fiesty elderly lady neighbor feeding forward raccoons oxycodone laced biscuits so her husband could net them and take them away. Fortunately our bloodlines have had quiet content pups. They make little grunting sounds when feeding, sounding very satisfied. Restless Moms do tend to have restless pups. Specific behavior captured in a given bloodline is common. Even when the 8 week old pups never see each other again. Oh yes the rear spigots(great description) do hold most of the milk. We were surprised she has been sucked dry a few times in the 6 days even with so much milk. This is normal with 8 to 12 pups, not 5, these are gluttons. James, when those little lushes where younger, and suckling on momma while making happy, grunting noises, they were still in the house. Momma later had to go to the vet's for calcium injection/supplements because the nine little parasites were sucking her dry. It wasn't until they were older and being weaned that they got banished to the backyard. Hence the racket they put up. For some reason, my Mom didn't want to disturb the neighbors. You know that drill well, lol. Thanks for the answer on those back mammaries, also thanks for the timely pupdate.

With only 5 pups and a healthy Mom they have doubled from an already hefty 20 ounces at birth to 40+ ounces in 6 days. James, would I be correct to assume that the spigots to the rear produce more milk? Just wondering... Over all the years my family has had dogs, only one had pups, nine of them. (She was pregnant when they got her.) You remember me telling you about them, right? And that my mom used to set out a pan of beer for them so they'd quiet down? LOL.

The Chinese were big on the Phoenix, saw a blue and white shard online with that as the design. Do you think it could be Chinese, or maybe Japanese?

Thanks for posting that 1dave, it was very interesting! People don't think about how much a river can move over the years. Kind of amazing they even located the vessel, and buried eighty feet deep! That was quite an undertaking to dig it out. Kudos to the two men that saved all the items for posterity in a museum. If I ever find myself back there, I would love to go visit that museum.

What a nice day, Brian beefjello ! You always do come up with some great finds. All the rocks in the tailgate pix are wonderful, especially the bomber 65 lb one! Despite how much the area has been hounded over the last fifty years, it does still produce some nice rocks! A lot of variety. Thanks for taking us along. It's been a few years since we've been out there.

Ewwww, stinky! I had four or five on one plant getting ready to open up, then I zoned, and forgot to check on them for a few days. When I finally did check on them, they were pretty well dried up and unidentifiable. Darn. Thanks for the pic and story, Brian!

Brian beefjello , sorry for the long delay in getting that information to you. (And in such a round-a-bout way, lol.) Hope it was worth the wait. Now you know.
