I have a few question of anyone that knows faceting equipment, I am buying a bunch of used lapidary equipment, grinders, saws, polishers, and have a chance to get faceting equipment and all the extras, it is a prizmatic faceting machine. Is it a good brand ? It comes with lots of books, instructions, manuals, laps etc. Is there anything I should look at for wear etc. I want to learn faceting but don't know much about it yet. Was after the other things but will take the faceting equipment if it is good. Any help and advise is very much appreciated.

Was not sure where to post this, first I must congratulate all of you on what you are doing, it is awesome. I am on another forum that we have tried to keep going and without people participating it is failing, so it is so great to see and to have a chance to be part of this forum and where it is going, as I see it only getting stronger everyday. you have so much knowledge and information that you share and you make us newbies feel very welcome. This brings me to a couple questions, As a newbie with only a few posts and I know till we have a min number of posts we should not post things for sale, is this in effect for the RTH funding ? As I have material I would like to offer for auction to help fund. i will wait for an answer, and either way is fine, I can always buy to help support the fund. can always use more rocks, Just don't tell my wife lolIf you want to help, i encourage your altruism. BUT before folks spend hard earned money they will want some confidence. Do you have a good rating at ebay or somewhere else? Look if someone buys something and doesnt get it, payment wasnt to you. But at least they want what they bought. Can you offer some confidence? Gove it a go? Whatcha offering? Just so you know I didn't just post and disappear, I don't sell on eBay or anywhere online, I prefer trades, I was going to put up a box of material for the auction, found out what shipping from Canada would cost, Didn't know I would have to buy the mail truck.. so when I got here today and found auctions closed wanted to let you know, and thanks Mike, I do value honesty i am sure I will have lots of opportunity to show you some of the local material from around here.

Have a question, I have been reading the forum and about heat treating coral, now I see fossilman posted about heat treating Montana agates, What all do you heat treat and what does it do ? I have never done any and in dry prairies we don't have much coral. Lol I have a burnout oven that came with some other equipment I got, Is this something I should hold onto or do I get rid of it ?
