Jesus, i Think i would burn my House to the ground if I found a spider that big in my house😱 They aren't that big. The bulb of the abdomen is maybe 8-10 millimetres. Still to big for my taste🙃

Man, fortunately those are not that abundant here. Of course we have Recluse, nine inch centipedes and bark scorpions up the wazoo. Back in Ojai, my rock piles had so many widows that ole Lowell freaked when he came to raid them before my Texas move. There is another comb footed spider that feeds on back widows. Smaller than them too so I don't know how that works. Could be the reason we have so few widows here is the huge number of different kids of spider eating wasps. We have a huge mud daubers almost two inches long that is beautiful metallic blue and really likes widows. Makes incredible mud nests like two foot long organ pipes that it stuffs with paralyzed spiders....Mel That and trump makes me happy to live in denmark😜

Not hijacking thread but inspired by Pauls advice I had to try making my first heart Yesterday and it worked perfect. Now all I need is some more practice and a better finish, but it's not as easy as it sounds😅 Packed up and ready to be gifted to my Best girlfriend for the last 15 years. Hope she likes.....

Beautiful rocks and a stunning location. Out of interest, what is your throughput? Does it come anywhere near to your input? I'm getting the urge to hoard rocks just as I know if Monna sees them first, they're gone! Not 100% sure what thoughput are? But I Think you are asking if I'm hoarding and yes you are absolutely right😀

That's petty cool. Looks a little like our gowganda tillite. The water there is beatiful. Are you on vacation? Could be similar, but can't really tell if it's feldtspar. No it's just a temporay House as we are in the middel of buying a new house. It's close to Winther here so it's pretty cold but aside from that I could live here all year round. It's an amazing view to wake up to every morning and at Night there is this amazing view to the Stars as we are far away from the City.

Actually happy i didn't make the deadline because these are all great! Nice done everyone, hope that I some Day in the future will be able to give you some competition😀 If you don't enter you won't win... but furthermore you won't push yourself to do your best and become better by doing so. If you compared my cab from this month to my first one I made last year you would notice the difference. Mostly due to competitions and pushing myself to try new things on my own. Did the cab but forgot to take picture and post them...my brain must have had a melt down that weekend😱

I have Seen sellers on eBay using Photoshop or paint to mark up the pitchs and "flaws" on slabs. I think it makes a trusthwurthy (sorry for my spelling)seller that i would by from any time.

I bought my wheel cabbing machine used and it had those awfull sic wheels and I knew that I had to replace them but my wallet sad I had to do it one by one😀 I replaced one but then i needed a Vibe(bought a uv10 vibe and love it) had to buy materials to do some jewelery and tools, had to buy 10 tons of rocks from eBay and I still needed to replace the rest of my wheels. Then I discovered some cheep flat lap disk on eBay and i was lucky that the disk could be mounted to the tip of my cabber I just clammed my water supplie to the top and it works like a charm. I bought 6 disk from grit 80-3000 so i have to change the disc so i just work in batches.

WHAT porphyr on eBay?? Had to do a Quick search on eBay and the prices are totally CRAZY! I mean who wants to pay a quazillion dollars for that! You can go to the Beach and collect for free all the porphyr you want. Fine now I know what to stuff in the box for Scott. Must remember to photograph my father inlaw's collection of flint tools. It's fun to watch the difference from the continents. Well it's your local beach, but the all inclusive for everyone else, costs including time, travel and accommodation makes for a very expensive rock. By contrast the prices on ebay might be considered reasonable if rhomb porphyr is your thing. You can set prices for what you want - the question is - are they selling? If so then you're up and running! I could make a quazillion dollar😆

Yeah for the past couple of months eBay has been my Best friend until customs started to paying notice to the boxes from us postal and took out all my packages for toll. But I Think I'm covered for the next 200-300 years now. I promise Denmark has Black or clear flint and granite + rhomb phorphyr and that is that. Really nothing worth trading. I see rhomb porphyr on ebay! As per previous discussions, it only occurs in 3 places (known) in the world. Black flint - see my contribution to the discussion hereKnappers would be well into black flint and since the good old days (as in the link) the blackest flint was considered the best. I think it is too easy to suppose that the rocks you are so familiar with are nothing special. See the recent 'discovery' of aquaprase: the locals didn't think much of it either. I'm 100% clear about not going to turn it into a business, i have a full time job, 2 kids, a cat and a husband😀 and i have allready felt the pressure of people who wants to ordre or have me coming to homeparties. I've made it clear to them that my "stash" are limited, you can buy what i got and you can't order anything. I only want to cover for my purchases(why does rockhobbie = hoarding???) I would say that rock hoarding is part of the hobby Good rocks are hard to find so you want to stock up when you find them since you don't know when you will find them again. One of the neat things about this board is there are people from all over the world and most folks are willing to trade. If you want to add a really exotic element you may want to trade for some rocks from the US or Australia. I know nothing about Danish or Scandinavian rocks. I am sure there are local rocks up there we have not seen much in the US.
