Thanks guys... This sphere was a major pain in the A$$ to work, with all the different hardness's of the 'mud', had to stabilize the host rock several times as it ground down. As far as the rough/slabs, I am not sure where Rodney sell's at. I am sure if you contact catmandewe he can hook you up. Tim

Hey Tommy, I was kicking around my Onyx pile this morning, I was wrong, I did give you that piece. Unfortunately, does not narrow down location much, came from old estate. Most likely from Az, not Globe or Seven Springs. Possibly Mayor Onyx, but Mayor tends to be more grays then reds.

It does look like the nice gemmy serpentine from the globe area, lots of nice serpentine in the creeks from Globe to Young. If you got a 4x4 or quad, head up to the asbestos mines near the lake, there is a cool lime green serpentine in the mine tailings.

I asked a RF Guru and my work if the RF could possibly have any effect on a drawing, he said ONLY if the drawing media is ferrite based. RF would not have any effect on graphite.

Mark K Post some of the breci you found, it is my favorite of all the BC selection. Here is a piece Tommy and I found, someone dug it and and left it. It took the two of us to load it in back of truck.

Sounds like more of a humidity issue to me. Was near an air vent?

I recently found some odd tube agate at Burro Creek, is it a fossil or just cool tube agate? I am not aware of any fossils ever found in the area, reminds me of the Indonesian Palm root agate.

Thank you. Here is the sphere on display at the Vista Grande Mining Co booth in Tucson. Not sure if they sold it or not. Attachments:
