I haven't posted any photos for in awhile. I enjoy looking at everyone's photos, so I thought I would post some of mine. Here is some Prairie Jasper from the Rock Shed. These are pretty large so I could only put one or two at a time in my Model B. Group Shot: 1 Here is a close up: 2 Here are some bubblegum agates I got from the local rock show. Besides landscaping rock, I have probably tumbled more of these than any other rock. I love them. Here is the group: 3 Come closeups: 4 5 6 7 8 9 Here is some Serape Jasper from the Rock Shed. A harder tumble than I anticipated. 10 Single Shot: 11 Some moonstone from Gems by Mail. These are cool, but none come up flawless. Here are the best of the bunch: 12 A couple Singles: 13 14 These I believe are Mexican Agates purchased from the local rock show. I should have put a coin in there for reference. They are pretty small. There is a lot of variety but they have to tumble forever. 15 Some single shots: 16 17 18 19 20

They are all great, but the blue color in #2 is amazing.

They are all great but #15 is my favorite. It doesn’t look like something that would tumble well.

Here are some recent rocks I tumbled. The first is some Morgan Hill Jasper I purchased at a local rock show. This is the worst tumbing material. I don't think there is a single piece below that is free of imperfections. I rarely ever see if for sale, so I took a chance on it. I really do like it. Here are a few closer Next is some carnelian agate purchased from Gems By Mail. This stuff fractured quite a bit, especially the red, but I thought there was a ton of variety and I really like how they turned out: Here is the rough: Here are the best of the bunch polished: Close ups: I also tumbled some blue lace agate I purchased at the local rock show. These were pretty thin pieces, so not a lot of lace visible, but the blue color is outstanding. Rough: The finished product: I also tumbled some turritella agate I got from a local rock show. After a lot of frustration, I found I have the most success if I bust up this rock into small pieces. The bigger pieces seem to have too much undercutting. The good piece polish right up though. Rough: Polished: Last, I purchased a few chunks of clear quartz from Gems By Mail awhile ago. I think they came up pretty cool, they look like ice cubes when polished. Rough: Polished: Thanks for looking. Hope everyone has a nice Memorial Day holiday.

Thank you ontherocks ... This has helped me a lot. I think that I will start out with AO-500 in my Lot-O first - bypass 220 grit. ...No rotary tumbler for me on this one. What were you using as filler in the Lot-O? What ratio... shells to filler? Glenn I just put them in the vibe with a bunch on other miscellaneous agates and jaspers. There was a handful or two of ceramics, but not much filler.

Sorry for the delay. Here is the rough: Here are a handful I just took out of 220. The small black one at the bottom is a Turritella Shell I have polished previously, but as you can see the rough from the rock shed is bigger and more tan/red than I was expecting. I am pretty sure the smooth one at the top I stuck in the rotary for a week - it grinds away fast. I can't wait to see what they look like polished. Hope this helps!
