Anyone else from Nevada. I'm about 55 miles west of Las Vegas. Saw a listing on craigslist and now I'm in probably over my head. Have 0% rock experience. Not much common sense. Bought 176 5 Gallon buckets of rock over 3 ton. Spent $4500.00 on saw grinder cap, and tumbler. Love finding goodies inside rocks, amazes me, probably a so-so for most people here. Named my 1" avatar Eagle Has Landed. Go by Smitty, can you guess my last name?

Please post pics. Pyrite (an acid derived salt of iron) and rhodonite (a base derived salt of manganese) would be wierd together. Rhodochrosite and pyrite are the slabs I was referring to at the end, sorry for confusion. I am not suggesting that is what smittys got - rather his material does look very familiar to the rhodonite in the lot of manganese ore I have. Just basing my statement on pictures and my familiarity with materials. Hard to tell on something like this from photos alone. Agreed that rhodonite will oxidize. smittys - do you know location it was sourced? cheers No these were loose in a mixed bucket

176 buckets of rocks on the ground. Pick one up pass it around. 175 buckets of rocks on the ground. Pick one up pass it around. 174 buckets of rocks on the ground. Pick one up pass it around. 173 buckets of rocks on the ground. Pick one up pass it around. You get the point, how can you sleep I probably couldn't sleep till I went trough them all 2x,looks like fun. Should have brought them in the house 100+ degrees outside and hotter in shed, and no room to move around and open my buckets UGH DOH UGH
