Be careful down there, Wooferhound. If you are hounding by yourself, make sure you are aware of what's going on around you. Lots of cartel activity.

You had a good day! Dumb questions: 1. What's the difference between a Prairie Agate and a Bubble Gum Agate? 2. What's the difference between a Fairburn signer and a Fairburn?

Ed! Please be careful when you're on your photo expeditions at the zoo. I'm glad you only came away with a few scrapes and thorn puncture wounds. Nice picture, tho.

Great looking set-up Henry! You're lucky there were young men around to help with the loading after the show. That sure is a nice perk!

Lot of talk and opinion about opal and oil or water, but nothing about STABILIZING. The man asked for an opinion on that but the answer has been avoided. Jim This is an old thread, but generally I would say no, they can't be stablilized. I have tried it on a piece or two of Australian opal and was not successful. Welo opal is a different critter. It's hydrophane opal and absorbs water. I have never tried to stabilize it because I prefer Australian opal. You could take a piece and try to stabilize it and see what happens. It may absorb whatever is used to stabilize it and It could work maybe. Only way to know is to try doing it.

Well, I did have plans to do a wrap for this challenge but it seems the mesquite trees in my mom's yard had other thoughts. I was mowing weeds (yes, we got lots of weeds this year because of the rain) and somehow I got hit in the eye by a branch. Before you say anything let me assure you I was wearing safety glasses. I now have been blurry in that eye for a few weeks and eye doctor says it may take a few more before the blurriness goes away. I attempted a wrap but it was not pretty or even presentable so I think I'm going to have to sit out this month. Hope to see some good round wraps from you other wrappers. Sorry to hear about your eye, Diane. Hope it heals quickly. Arizona weeds are the worst weeds I have ever seen. Battle them constantly and still come back. A pox on tumbleweeds. Mesquite trees are really cool though, but I found out the first year I was here that I am really allergic to them when they flower. Be careful out there!

Hi Patty Roses are red Violets are blue Mohs will place a rock at the Zoo for you any suggestions,,, AHH- that would be sweet.
How about putting one by the giant tortoise pen. Your choice of the rock, but it should be something old, since tortoises have been around a long time.
Don't forget the picture
Patty
Patty - aren't all rocks old?

neural it looks like some of the red jasper and hematite that can be found on Mingus Mountain. You did a real nice job on that without a dop stick. Polish looks real good to me.

Thank you all. Today was a busy day for me. Vince's dad and nephew and their wives flew in last night. Today everyone was at my house including Vince's sister, her 2 girls and their 2 kids plus Cody the Corgie. Lots of hugs, tears and remembering. We went out to lunch and I scared the waitresses all to hell because I look so attractive right now from crying so much. I can't say it was a good birthday, but it certainly was a full day and that is not a bad thing at this point.
