Just thought I'd give an update
I have my wrap done & everything boxed up ready to go.
Hopefully Diane will like the wrap she's getting.
I went ahead & PM'd drocknut for her address. But I think she's been at Quartzite, so once I hear back I'll ship it on.
Patty
If you send it out now, it'll have time to go to Alaska, then route through Australia before reaching drocknut...seems to be how it's been lately with USPS!

OTOH you could ship it FedEx or UPS & they might just run it over with the forklift, after they throw it off the loading dock . Maybe it's time to bring back carrier pigeons

It'd be funny jasoninsd , if it wasn't true . OTOH you could ship it FedEx or UPS & they might just run it over with the forklift, after they throw it off the loading dock . Maybe it's time to bring back carrier pigeons Patty

We had a USPS carrier once shove our entire stack of mail into the back end of our box with his fist. You could actually see the fist impression and the mail was jammed in so tight we couldn’t get it out without tearing them into small pieces.😬 We then had a UPS driver throw a sweet potato pie up a full flight of stairs to our 2nd floor apartment door. (If you didn’t know there are companies that ship gift pies during the holiday season.🤩) Anyway it hit the door so hard that it’s now a house joke to watch what we mail with them since they deliver by drop-kick!🤣 Luckily those are pretty old stories and we don’t have too many issues now except for the fact that if you send anything to or through Washington, it will inevitably get sucked into the Kent, WA black hole for a few days before suddenly appearing again at its final destination. Looking forward to seeing the next wrap whenever it arrives!

Sorry for the delay. As Patty said, I've been in Quartzsite and hadn't been checking in on the forum because I'm using a temporary old cell phone because mine was acting up. I am back from Quartzsite now and have ordered a refurbished phone that is newer than my old phone so hopefully I will get it soon. I did check my PMs and replied to Patty today. She now has my address. Hope I didn't squirrel things up too badly.

Unbelievably the post office is doing it's thing again - The roaming box on the way to drocknut, is "Traveling through their Network, and is expected to be late".
I sent it on Sat, and at the same time I shipped a different Priority box to a friend in Seattle, WA.
They received theirs on Tuesday.
Last I looked AZ was a heck of a lot closer than WA to FL !
I'm crossing my fingers that they haven't lost it. Stay Tuned .

We had a 3 week delay with a package we mailed with a Christmas gift. The USPS tracking showed that it was in a local Post Office close to whom it had been mailed. After a series of calls with no call backs, finally got in touch with someone at that local Post Office. The person stated that it was not there and he knew that for a fact. Apparently the Tracking system does not reflect reality!! The progress of any package in the system is "the expected" progress. Behind the scenes there is a report available that indicates actual scans. Our package was last scanned in Houston and had never progressed. With that clue we were able to contact our Post Office and finally got things moving!! I asked the person why doesn't the tracking info displayed match the actual scan data which would seem to be the way it should be. He just chuckled and said well it's the way it is. In his defense he did go to the extra distance and found the real location and allowed us to get it moving. Good luck

I've tracked packages (numerous ones) where the tracking indicated they were here in Rapid City...then next thing I know they're mysteriously back in Sioux Falls (the "hub" for our area). After the packages get moving again, the entries which stated they were already here mysteriously disappear from the tracking history. Someone in the USPS needs to infiltrate UPS and FedEx and copy their tracking systems...which seem a heck of a lot more reliable than what USPS is doing...

I am fortunate to have a local post office who will take the time to look at the "internal" system and let me know what is going on when something disappears. Their internal tracking system seems far more complete and accurate - BUT - packages move in bins. Each package is not necessarily individually scanned, rather, the bin is scanned (depending upon each post office and how busy they are). If the package in question gets into the wrong bin, which I imagine happens a fair amount, it will be incorrectly reported throughout. This information comes from my post office workers. As a volunteer for a nonprofit, I do all of the mailing for its online jewelry sales, so I watch ten or so packages per week. A guesstimate is that I have a problem with one in ten.
On a (slightly) more positive note, packages that go internationally are more of a problem, so I guess we should say we are "lucky." I just had a package returned from Belgium (not deliverable) and promptly delivered to "my" post office box number but in the wrong city and state. I could begin a significant rant here, so I'll just quit.

I haven't seen it yet but still hoping it will arrive. I just checked the tracking myself and it hasn't updated since Feb 1 when it said "in transit". USPS strikes again..lol

The post office doesn't like our Roaming Wire. Something always happens... But, at least it's not boxes of rocks like the traveling rock box.

Good news, I got the box yesterday when I got home from being in Phoenix all day. The wrap is awesome and I'll try to post pictures soon.

Coming from a person who says she doesn't like odd shapes, this is extraordinary! (It's extraordinary anyway.) I really like the weave used with that and am especially impressed with the way the back is secured, since the "shadow" it creates on the back of this translucent stone is aesthetically pleasing. Way to go on a difficult wrapping shape! And thank you, drocknut, for your photos.

Thank you Diane, drocknut , I'm glad you like the wrap. The Carnelian just called out to me, it was glowing & needed to be appreciated . I'm glad you liked your little bit of Florida.
I thought it was fun to send a piece of the ocean to the desert . If you ever need any more let me know, we have plenty . Here's the beach where we collected it - St Vincent NWR , a 7 mile long barrier island, only accessible by boat.
We paddle our kayaks out there & usually have the whole island to ourselves. Thank you again, Patty PS- For someone not knowing how to use their phone , you did a hell of a good job !
