Hi I’ve been lurking for a little while, a rock hound for decades longer. I don’t know a lot about tumbling though. Long ago now I had a smaller Lortone tumbler, which I bought used, and I learned a bit about tumbling. That tumbler eventually passed away, but not before I learned some. Then for 20 or so years no tumbling at all. Well not too long ago I decided to get back in to it, and after some thought and a lengthy search I found a place that had a QT66 in stock. It’s filled and running in another room as I type. But honestly I don’t know more than tumbling basics. I have spent far more time out collecting stuff in old mines, even traveling some to dig here or there. And plan on a few more trips for the same, before I can’t any longer. As I age, spending a day stooped over digging/chiseling gets harder to do, and so things like making rocks shiny seems more and more the route to go. I’m even considering getting myself a trim saw and maybe some sort of flat top as well, and seeing what I have for talents. I do a lot of photography as well, that’s for other forums mostly.

Yup, sounds like you're heading down the rabbit hole we call lapidary. Welcome to the club.

Not yet anyway. We pretty much look at anything someone takes a picture of! Critters, bugs, plants, rocks .... we'll look at anything! There's also a macro thread if you like taking macros.

Welcome from NW Florida. Photos are good - birdies are pretty, sometimes they are even sitting on rocks
