As some of you may have guessed, I have been in a funk (it's been a rough year for me), but I feel much better and even did a few wraps. DH kinda took over my photo spot for now, so I took some pics with the cell phone. The phone absolutely refuses to focus on a silver ore piece with gold beads. Too reflective, I guess. I left that out.
I was looking at old pieces and was inspired to do this one as a combination of two. I want to do another with a larger stone and work some filigree into the negative spaces. This stone is pretty small. I won't lie- this looks simple, but eyeballing all those measurements was a bear.
Too bad the pics kinda blow. The negative space is real nice. This is very secure.
This crazy lace is just a simple piece to get my fingers and hands moving. LOL!
Thanks for looking.

It looks to me like your fingers were definitely in the mood to work some magic! The second one is "simple elegance" in its truest form! That first one...well...it has my head swimming! A genius design...which I'm trying to wrap my head around a couple things on that one. I think you came up with a winning design there my friend!

I can see a future for that one.

Before anyone asks- the back on the first one looks like the front and the back on the second one is a standard border wrap.

I love the round in the square hole look - very unconventional - I like that.
But I have to ask, to double check what I'm seeing as your photo isn't clear to me.
The black I see behind the stone is just something you've propped up the stone on, right ?
Right ! ?
Glad to see you at it & thanks for sharing.
You've always an inspiration

Bad picture. The black is the shadow in the open area.
Thanks for the compliment. I hadn't wrapped in awhile, so it felt good- if not rusty.

Well I can check that one off the list of what was perplexing me! LOL On that first picture, it seriously looks like obsidian there in the negative space around the bottom sides of the cab...the edges of which look like light reflecting. Amazing picture really! LOL

Tela, that first one is killer! What an awesome design. I probably would never have thought of doing something like that.

rockjunquie Wow, that first one is awesome. Very unique. And the 2nd one is just very pretty. I think someone said elegant, that’s a good word, great for a dressy occasion. But that first one is quite cool, quite a statement.

I thought the first one was obsidian as well behind the cab and wondered how the back looked like the front. Even now that I know, every time I look at it I see something different--first an old street lamp design, now a stained glass window--it's fascinating. The second, well, the second is the epitome of smooth and elegant. Love them both!
