So can you do more than one bead ? Or more than one coil, for that matter ?? Absolutely to both! Thanks Susan,
It was probably a silly question - but I wanted to be sure of your intention .

Sounds like an interesting challenge. Those are great examples Tela.

Anyone else have anything cooking ??

I have nothing going on yet. My weekend is pretty full, so I don't know if I will make it. I might finish last month's challenge.
I will try to get one in!

Well, how does this fly? I was finishing my round from last month when I realized that it would work for this month. It has coiling in the form of weaving (the outside wires look coiled) and there is a bead. LOL! OK, if this doesn't work- I will TRY to get another one done in time.
I didn't notice til I was done that the pendant was tilted at an angle. DOH!!!! I hate that.

rockjunquie Wow, that is very pretty. I love the stone and really like the little spaced wire wrap loops around the perimeter. I’d be interested to know how those are connected at the sides and back. I find I always like Tiffany or Bertrandite. But this pink is really unique. I think I like it because it’s such an opaque pastel as opposed to translucent agate. Very nice. 👍

Tiffany Stone is always a winner. I love it! I didn't think to get pics of the back and I have given it to my granddauhter who fell in love with it.

Very pretty, Tela! Is that cab buff top? Thanks! Strictly speaking... I don't think it's a buff top. It has a very slight dome- but, pretty flat really.

It's lovely! Lovely enough to let the coil part "slide." And so lovely that I'm hesitant to post mine, but I will anyway because it's late and I'm not thinking clearly.

That's a nice design Tela! Not to label anything...but the term "modern" came to mind when I saw this one!

I loved this cab when I first saw it, and for all the reasons I loved it, it was a real challenge for me. I've spent several weeks staring at it, drawing pictures, etc., largely because there was a long copper "bead" that I wanted to attach to span the top. Try as I might, I failed--just couldn't figure out a way to attach that "bead." I'm so enamored of the "bead" that I have added a third photo showing the bead "wannabe." Wrap measures a whopping three inches, and I haven't added a bail since I'm thinking about making a necklace and attaching it on both sides about a third of the way down--I think I can do it if I add an extra wire. Four strands of 18 gauge copper, Nunn Designs beads (they must have been on sale--I usually find them way overpriced). Coil was done on a 16 gauge wire then slid onto the 18 gauge. Needs tweaking! I actually like that design Susan! The swooping loop on top completes the shape visually! I could see a simple free-floating split ring on that top wire working well!

Jason, you are too kind. I'm not so sure that I like it--I'm rather on the fence about it. I agree that a floating bail would work, but this is a really heavy piece and would drag a necklace way down. I'm thinking that attaching on the sides with a portion of the cab above the connection point would lessen this problem. I'm not sure I want to put the time into a necklace, though.

That's a beautiful design Tela.
Way to go to get 2 months in one
I'm with khara, I would have liked to see the back, but as I'm learning,
that's part of the wire wrapping challenge, figuring out "how'd they do that ?" (or at least mine anyway) .
I like the woven bail - it looks graceful on top with the small bead.
Good on your grand daughter to claim it .

I'm flattered that you like the cab so much, but it is indeed a big one. But, I think you nailed it quite nicely.
The heavy wire is very complimentary to it's size, and your wrap itself is in the spirit of the jasper,
simple but graceful, with the beads & coil at top adding extra interest. I mean what's not to like.
I think I would agree with you, on attaching to the border part way down to hang it.
That indeed would seem to lessen the "big" cab feeling.
On a side note, that copper "bead" is way interesting.
My simplistic brain sees it as a dangle, but I'd be interested to see how you utilize it differently.

I was really mad at myself because I couldn't for the life of me think up something new. I think I have run out of new ideas. Well, how does this fly? That's a nice design Tela! Not to label anything...but the term "modern" came to mind when I saw this one! Thanks, you can call it Modern. Works for me. I loved this cab when I first saw it, and for all the reasons I loved it, it was a real challenge for me. I've spent several weeks staring at it, drawing pictures, etc., largely because there was a long copper "bead" that I wanted to attach to span the top. Susan, I really like what you did with this!! Was this from my tute? If so- I love how you made it your own. Very nice. I know you're not crazy about it, but hopefully it grows on you or calls you to tweak it more towards your vision for it.
I agree the chain should come off the pendant. That's a beautiful design Tela.

Thank you, Patti. I always forget to photograph the backs because I have never been in the habit of doing it. Most wrappers don't share the backs because that's where all the "secrets" are. I think I have pictured the back of this particular kind of wrap before, though.

Having seen the amount of variety in your work Tela rockjunquie , I can't believe it's possible for you to run out of new ideas. Maybe a new direction - but your imagination is full I'm certain. Maybe you just need a vacation
