I'm jumping into the fray late as I've been quite busy. Just did about 10 hours at my shop moving large pieces of metal. My fitness watch says I did 15,153 steps today. Anyway, some nice looking wraps here already, but that's to be expected considering who the wrappers are! I was working on some coils last night using the drill and a large fishing swivel in my vice. It went real well but I was having issues with the wire breaking off in the drill chuck. I wonder if anyone has some tips to avoid this. Wine is OK but I'm lubing with Jack tonight! Hey there rockbrain, I'm new to the forum, have been lurking for a couple of months now. But anyway, forgive if this a dumb suggestion about wire twisting, I have no concept of the tools and techniques you all use in creating your masterpieces, but would a pair of wire twisting pliers work? Just a thought.... Welcome to the forum! I think the wire twisting pliers could be used but not for this. When making coils your aren't twisting 2 wires together, you're wrapping one around another one, like a wound guitar string. Take a look at the beautiful earrings that Patty liveoak just posted here. Those are the coils. To get the piece like I used on this wrap, you make a coil, then you wrap that coil around another core wire. Making the coils can go really fast with a drill on one end of the core wire and the other end connected to a fishing swivel held in a vice. Wrapping the coil around another core I do by hand.

OK, I finally got my earrings together.
I did start with a tutorial, but as usual I end up tweaking the design a bit.
Of course, they came out different. By the time I got the second earring done, I had refined my thoughts a little.
But then I'm sure hanging on different sides of a head- no one will know.
I'm particular to the left one.
Thanks for the challenge- I made it just under the wire.
Coils & bead.

Dang Girl, those are pretty! I'd wear them for sure.

I realized that I need a couple of different earrings in a "wire wrapped style",
and this one had that coil, and the bead kept them light with a little interest.
I wasn't sure at first, if there was just too much wire for the size of the bead, but I think they grew on me.
I probably should go back and make a second one to match the left one, as I like it better.
But then again there are other things to move onto.
What's cooking for June ?

I watched some you tube videos on wire twisting. Holy crap, the things you all do are amazing! So getting back to where I started this conversation, I brainstormed another idea that I guess would work for your wire twisting. It comes from the idea of twisting wire for spinner baits for fishing. If you could fabricate a driver to chuck up in your drill, like the photo attached, it would probably solve your problem.https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/2EoAAOSwhcJWOOdI/s-l1600.jpg
