Hi all, I hail from Trinidad in the West Indies. While I am predominantly a planetary astroimager, I always had a deep love for geology. I recently got back in the hobby and while I have much to learn I hope I can be of value here.

Thank you very much! the interface is very good and intuitive! I have a general love of rocks but geodes hold a special place. My first one is a half from Brazil way back when I was 12. Apparently my little one has a love for geodes too!
Here is a tiny selection from recent purchases

wargrafix Welcome from Idaho, USA. Great photo of Jupiter and Ganymede(?). Its Io. This was from Opposition last year. Sadly Trinidad isn't very interesting rockwise, we have sedimentary and mud volcanoes. Maybe calcite. We do have gravel though.
Here is a treat for the mineral lovers here. A mineral Moon I recently did

Thank you! I need to figure out a nice way to photograph rocks when posting. A lot of people will use a lightbox for photographing their rocks. I think there's some threads about the lightboxes people use...or you can build your own pretty inexpensively...

Welcome from NW Florida. We also don't have many rocks - only fossils and agatized coral. Maybe you also have agatized coral ? It is cool stuff, it's basically a fossil form of coral.
Nice photos btw

We have coral in our north east cost, but most coral is in Tobago. I have to take a drive up there and explore. Here is a Saturn from last year Also here is a geology map of trinidad

Welcome! I’ve a Celestron NexStar 8SE, myself. Easy for me to tote out when we go Jeeping and rockhounding.
Beautiful pictures. What camera are you using?
