We don't know where to send a card. But, maybe we can come up with something else.
Please use this thread to post your remembrances of Ed.
I remember his prose, his absolute mohst literate self and his photo adventures. I also remember him as being a peacemaker. He was humble and funny, helpful and friendly. He was a philosopher and an artist. He was great spokesman for Phoenix and Ladmo bags He was also a maker of fine rockin" hearts. I will miss him like crazy. RTH will not be the same without Mr. Mohs.

I strongly suspect that we, the forum, were his family and we were all blessed to have him as a member of our family.
Maybe something at the Phoenix Zoo? I know he spent a good bit of his last few months there and seemed to draw energy and motivation from his visits.
He and I PM'ed over the last several years with the topic usually being the latest books I was reading. After a bit we started focusing on the books written by Umberto Eco, (The Name of the Rose). The books were written in his Ed's cryptic-ish style of writing full of literary, historical and philosophical references. He remembered characters in the books that I had to go back and re-read to pickup on the subtle traits Ed referenced. He was obviously very educated, whether formally or self taught I am not sure. I will miss reading his messages and posts.
There is no more powerful testment to his character than to say he lived outside the normal margins of society where we all feel comfortable, yet even having little for himself he was always willing to give what he had.
He will be missed. Henry

Ed was a special person. HankRocks summed up Ed pretty well. He was quirky, funny, kind and extremely smart although sometimes you'd never know it by how he wrote. I think he had so much in his brain, too much would try to come out at once (in my best Ed imitation - HA!). I loved his photo shoot posts at the zoo, decorating the Saguaro for Christmas, the mountain scenes from Phoenix ... no matter what the subject, seeing a post from Ed always made me smile. I will also miss him like crazy. He added an element to the forum that will never be replaced. They broke the mold after Ed was born.

I also enjoyed Ed's style of communication and will also miss his being part a of RTH but will have a fond memory of his wit.

I was thinking of having a brick with his name at the zoo. Something like that. I don't see anything like that at the museum, but yeah, I do remember him talking about it.

Sad to hear, he will be missed. He used to always bring a heart when he visited us at the booth. I havent seen him since covid though.
If we need donations to get him a brick at the zoo or whatever we decide is best I am in.

Everyone-
I contacted Maricopa County Indigent Decedent Services. They WERE able to locate a family member. However, the family has not come forward to claim Ed's remains. There is a time frame in which they need to do it. If they DO NOT make arrangements, then the office will call me. I asked him to pass my name and information to his family along with the fact that I am representing RTH.
I know this is a lot to throw out, but if needed, maybe in lieu of a brick we can raise a little more to have his remains taken care of. I don't think Ed was a vet. The decedent's office will check an organization to verify that he wasn't a vet. If he was, it would be easy to have his remains taken care of.
That's all I have right now.

He loved the Phoenix Zoo and a brick would be a great thing to do. I think the LadMo bench with the statues of his favorite TV comedians was also at the Zoo. Maybe that brick could be placed somewhere close to the bench. I, like many of you, feel like I just lost my best friend and Ed's loss is hitting me pretty hard. We PM'd at times and talked about many things including live appearances by bands that we both liked and had seen through the years. Just like the lyrics of the Doors Jim Morrison went, I'd like to think that my friend Ed is Riding on the Storm to a better place. Riders on the storm Riders on the storm Into this house, we're born Into this world, we're thrown Like a dog without a bone An actor out on loan Riders on the storm

One of the things I enjoy about this board is the sense of community. Ed’s fun comments about some rocks I found in Northern Arizona (I swear they were a light blue when picked them up) will be one of the things I remember. Rock people are good people.

Words escape me right now. So much loss is such a short time. Ed was well, Ed. He marched to the beat of his own drummer and will definitely be missed by all who knew him. He was always asking me if I wanted to go on the Lost Dutchman's tour of Phoenix that he would give personally. Now he is gone and I wish I had taken him up on the offer. Take care my friend, may you rest in peace.
