Another month has rushed by... Time for the new challenge chosen by rockbrain. Should be a fun one!
Remember, this is just for fun and to try to work outside our comfort zones.

I searched around just for this post. Glad to see it up already.👍 I think life is busy for everyone. I’m still working on settling into a new routine with some pretty big changes we’ve made here. It’s going well but not a lot of time for hobbies. I walk by my wrapping and metalsmithing table and the same projects have sat there for many months. I intended to make a Mother’s Day gift for my mom that never got done so I said ok I’ll get it done for her birthday, which is this Sunday, and there’s no way that’s going to happen… maybe Christmas? But I always look for this thread, since it’s been going anyway, for the inspiration and just in case I can find an evening that’s free. Lots of possibilities with dangling things… 🤔

Hellooo September! It is undoubtedly the busiest time of the year for me at the moment, but I am glad to be able to pop back in. I love incorporating dangling elements in jewelry, it gives some especially awesome opportunities for some sweet asymmetry! I just brought up my latest batch of tumbled stones to school with me, so hopefully I will be able to come up with something this month. Looking forward to seeing all of your creations!

Looks like I am first one out the gate. Finished this yesterday, but just got some quick pictures done. Sorry the pics are so bad. My tent is now buried from all the moving around of things we've been doing. I should have reviewed my own tutorial when I started this. I ended up having a big mess on the back. In order to protect my reputation... no picture of the back. LOL!!! It looks like a slightly organized bird's nest. It still lays flat and even, though. This is an Owyhee flower jasper. I love this material!! It polishes beautifully, too.
The pendant dangles from the bail. It really is much nicer than in the photos.

I forgot to mention that I used this tutorial for the detachable bail. I really like it.

I love that design Tela, the corners are so neat & nicely wrapped - I'd never in a million years get that to look so nice. Personally, I'll imagine the back being nice & tidy, as I just can't bring myself to believe it could be anything less . I also like that you did the dangle as the bail- I was thinking it had to be two stones or a stone & a bead- but using the bail as the dangle works nicely.
I have to add that the Owyhee flower jasper is super nice and looks fitting in the design - makes me think of a Japanese design - I'm going to have to look for some of that.
Thanks, as always, for the inspiration,
Patty

Patty Thanks Patty! I shouldn't have tackled that without doing one to brush up. I am so rusty. Overall, though, I can live with it.

Lovely piece!! The corners add a wonderful motion to it, and what a pretty stone! Kinda reminds me of coffee stains on fabric.

Tela, I don't know why, but my first thought when looking at your wrap was "cheerful." It's a fun little guy, and those curves at the bottom add to the whimsical character. Interesting, because on the "rose" stone, the curves were more of a "strength" effect. I also very much appreciate your giving a link to the tutorial--what a great idea that worked perfectly with your wrap. And finally, the "real" question is what people see in the Rorschach test (I didn't see a Rorrschach test).

I just wanted to use a wrap where I could use that bail again. LOL! It swings and dangles, so there you have it.

Here's my dangling wrap. It's a tumbled stone. Pretty much followed a tutorial from YouTube by Oxana.
