Rockoonz and liveoak have been coordinating about the bench placement with Ashley from the zoo. If you are in the area ( drocknut , beefjello and AzRockGeek ) mark your calendars for next Wed the 15th Nov between 9 and noon for setup and unveiling. Lee Rockoonz will be there. Pictures will be taken for all those who couldn't be there- like me.
Let me take this time to thank everyone for their interest and support for getting Ed a proper memorial. I'm hoping this will inspire people to hide rocks at the zoo.

Talked to and emailed zooashley today, and it looks like, due to needing a forklife to install, the bench will be placed before the zoo opens, but then covered for the official unveiling. I have found Ed's brother arno58 on FB and sent a message there, hope he gets word of it. Also I don't know if Sherri Rockhobbit might want to be there too. Since we have a zoo membership we plan to be there early but can schedule the unveiling for any time before noon, based on what I hear over the weekend I'll decide on a firm time Monday. |

Bench is in place and unveiled. beefjello Brian was able to take a really long lunch and join us. zooashley Ashley was as wonderful in person as she unveiled the bench, well actually a stiff gust of wind did it while we were talking about how to do it. Perhaps Ed was getting impatient with us. The veiled bench...  Official unveiling was scheduled for 10am, I was there at 9 so I distributed rocks and took a lap. Near the bench are the flamingos, and they were pretty active.  Ashley, Brian and I. A random passerby offered to take a pic for us and she did well.  liveoak Patty, Ashley deposited your heart into the Ladmo bag, was still there when I left.  Brian and I after the unveiling...  Ashley  The Bench and plaque, and the rockin heart Ed made for Elizabeth.   Ashley gave us a short golf cart Zoo tour as well, we were serenaded at one point... There you have it, the fruition of an amazing RTH tribute to our friend. |

Thank you Lee Rockoonz, what a great report - and obviously a nice day at the zoo !!! I love the photos, I love that Ashley wore her pendant, and that you guys put the extra heart in the Ladmo bag.  Looks like a great success - Even the howler monkeys approved !

Really cool.👍👍 Great spot for the bench and it looks perfect for resting and people and critter watching. Definitely fitting. The rock n’ heart that Ed made is absolutely gorgeous. Do you know what the material is Rockoonz ? And Ashley looks really cute with the beautiful pink heart pendant that liveoak Patty made. 👍👍 |
