Made me so happy to see him free Thought of you the other day Ali. I was driving out to a customer's house and saw a large bird off in the distance. I was positive from the way the wings were flapping it was a Bald Eagle. Sure enough...it flew down the length of the road and gave me a nice view as he/she passed overhead.

We had a neighbor whose small dog got scooped up by a bald of their dock. The dog never saw it coming Poor little puppy.😢 Ya it happened to our friends cat also. Poor little kitty. 😢 We had a horned owl around our place that was attacking people's pets. It attacked someone's cat and tried to fly off with the neighbors <10 pound dog. It even made the local paper and the news. Of course that also brought up every single person at my office (including a few I'd never even spoken to/didn't recognize) asking me "Oh you're from there? DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE OWL?? Aren't you worried about your dogs??" and me telling them "Yes, I know about the owl. No, I'm not worried. If that owl wants to take off with my dogs, it can have them." People must've thought I was super heartless. Keep in mind that our smallest dog was ~30 pounds and as big around as a QT12 barrel. We also had a 65 pound shepherd mutt would've made quick work of any wildlife that dare enter the yard. She wasn't tall but she hated birds with a passion. Really though, I don't think the bird ever came anywhere near our yard. Someone on the block told me the DNR wildlife crew came out and trapped/relocated it so people would calm down. Glad to read this beautiful bird recovered and was released! Hopefully it has a safe life from here out.

Nate and I (I really mean just, I) are in the process of getting chickens. Owls love chickens and we have a healthy population of them
Never had one try to take cats/dogs though

Traffic picked up on the nest cam when it was discovered last month that Jackie had laid three eggs: One on Jan. 25, the second on Jan. 28, and the third on Jan. 31, Steers said, noting that the incubation period for the eggs is 35 days. That means that if everything goes well, we could see an egg hatch on Feb. 29 — Leap Day.

MsAli - Thought of you earlier this afternoon. My wife and I headed into town for a burger...came over the hill north of our house and drove under a Bald that had just taken off from the field. It was so awesome to see it right up close!!

Thought of you the other day Ali. That's funny...I did, too (yesterday), but for a different reason. Having just bought a bore scope (camera) on a telescoping pole, we checked one of our owl boxes that is on my wife's family property. After non-use for years (another box seemed to be a favorite), there are now 5 barn owlets ranging from about 20ish to 40 days old, based upon their appearance. MsAli was a big fan when I posted previous years' vids, so I immediately thought of her when we confirmed the box had owlets. I'll start a thread about that sometime down the road.
