I am looking forward to watching the progress you make with all of these stones! There are some I am excited about, and it will be fun to see if they live up to my expectation of them as they progress!
Thank you!

Wow that is a lot of documentation work! I really enjoy seeing the details of these agates in your photos. Look forward to seeing their progresses.

Weight - 57.4g Kind of unfortunate shape, the wooden shoe here needs some help. I probably won't actively take anything off until it shows something promising, that's a rather deep pit and the back has a long way to go as well.
Prediction - I'm really not sure what to expect with this one. I would wager it'll lose over half it's mass and even then, I'm not holding my breath. Really hard to tell if there is anything going on subsurface. Status - Rough 01/14/24 5/18/2024 Rough

Weight - 60.1g I like this one the more I look at it. There is a lot of work to be done on the face and expect most of that to chip away early, eventually it'll start to even out after it loses it's edge some. Lot's of nice banding and some nice patterns on the back half. A nice piece the way it is... Prediction - I feel confident that this will be a winner, there is too much going on even if some bad happens along the way. Status - Rough

Weight - 61.0g There isn't much to love early with this guy. The colors don't really get me excited, but you can see there are some well established outer layers and the bottom might clean up better than expected. Prediction - Average at best, maybe it'll keep the bon bon shape, which would be cool Status - Rough 12/28/23

Weight - 62.0g This one reminded of crop circles or of the Nazca lines. Odd patterns all over the place. There is crack that is pretty concerning and expect that to shear of and change the shape, maybe 2 will be better than 1 Prediction - If it can hold on and not crumble to far, I am pretty optimistic about how this might turn out. Weight - 65.9g This another that I don't think is a Bahia, though likely it was picked from the same area. I guess I picked it because it was bigger than the others Prediction - Filler. Those quartz veins don't hold up well and I'm not expecting this to go any differently. Status - Rough 4/27/24

Weight - 71.1g This looks very similar to a previous in my opinion and I'm curious how they'll compare afterwards. Some interesting structure on the top side, but I don't see much else here. Luckily it's a big rock and from what I've seen there is plenty of change the longer they roll. Prediction - I hope the colors pop, but I get the feeling it's going be a pale yellow orange with nothing much going on...time will tell. Status - Rough

Weight - 72.7 (after 2 weeks in coarse and plenty of flatlap work done) So this is the rock that kind of got the wheels turning on this project. I picked it up a few months ago and had honestly forgotten about it. I took it to the flat lap for a while and right away nice colors and banding started showing up, probably what got me excited (my excuse) to buy more of these. Prediction - The cracks are concerning sub surface, but there isn't much I can do there. The colors pop more that most and lots of variety all around. Honestly hoping the best for this guy Status - Rough 2 Weeks in Coarse and Flat Lap 12/21/2023 1/30/2024

Weight - 75.2g "Aha!" you say, "What a lovely rock!" "I agree", I would say. Then you realize this thing is going to capsize harder than an iceberg, hell it's practically splitting in half by me setting it down too hard. Prediction - That being said there is a fun range of colors here and 4 rocks may be better than 1. I just hope one is big enough to show off...I'm hopeful it's on the good side rather than a dud. Weight - 83.1g Man I really liked this one at first, you get a good feel how it's going to look. There are some really deep cracks that'll have to figure out and that pit on the bottom is already in a bit of a hollow spot. Maybe it'll split on it's own... Prediction - I still think it has a lot of potential despite the major flaws. That booger druzy needs to go lol. I'll give it preliminary 7. Status - Rough 12/28/23

Weight - 94.8g I forgot about this one, kind of gnarly looking thing. For such a large rock, it actually has a lot of potential, plenty of layering on the top and sides. A little bit of a pocket on the bottom that I may have to put some work into. Prediction - As long as the big face holds up it should turn out nicely, honestly probably better than I can imagine right now. Status - Rough 12/21/2023

Weight - 101.5g This one is ready to be tamed. The flat bottom makes taking pictures easy, and there is plenty to take in all around and top. I expect a few weeks before I tackle that crater on the side. Prediction - This should be a top pick this run, everything about it is set up nicely for a good run. How beautiful it gets is dependent on how many colors emerge. Or maybe it'll just be a big dumpy looking cupcake.... Status - Rough 3/10/2024 - 88.6g

Weight - 146.9g This is it, the last of the batch and heaviest by some margin. A big 'ole nothing burger. Just look at it, like a rock hard potato. Prediction - I'm going to leave this one open. I legitimately have no idea what is going to happen. You can see a little bit of something going on in that window, but can't garner anything from it. I guess I'm intrigued to find out and the outcome will be a welcome sight. If you made it this far, I appreciate the viewing Status - Rough 12/28/23

Weight - 33.8g This one has potential depending on how clean I can keep the druzy and what colors show up. There is a pretty nice range already, so fingers crossed there is more under the skin. I'll probably have to work an edge to keep everything even.
Prediction - I think this one should turn out nicely and be one of the best small rocks in this batch. Status - Rough I'm pretty excited about this one. I think the prominent banding on the top and the potential for a crazy lace look on the bottom could be really cool!!

Noteworthy updates after 1 week I took pictures off all the rocks and then realized what a chore posting each rock every week would be, sooo that's not going to happen.
Colors starting to pop, will work it on the flat lap likely next week
The Bahia that isn't broke as expected and I won't be tracking it any longer
Wild color change from white to brown I didn't see coming. I wonder how much more color will change My hope is waning on this one already...
I'm a little more excited about this one however, the white is very soft seems like it's falling out.
The first big break and I think it's for the better, now two pretty rocks Downside, not a Bahia. Plus side, some kind of brown/Amber chalcedony? If someone has a better name, let me know.
Also, for those following the progress on this project, let me know if this format works as I'm still learning what looks best and is easy to use.

This one is so cool! We find similar around central Texas. My wife calls them potato rocks since that’s what they look like with the ‘skin’ on. Your entire thread was a very nice read. I’ll be following as you go!
