I am finally starting to get caught up on tumbling rocks. Here are before and after pics of rocks I got from Dillon
dillonf . Thanks much Dillon!
Before pic and description. I tumbled everything except the solid Ocos, Fire agate, Richardson's Ranch opal egg, coprolite, and one ocean jasper. Will attack those later.
First column on the left top to bottom: Wyoming moss agate, solid Ocos, Fire agate, Richardson's Ranch opal egg.
Next column up and down: Hoyt Canyon Agate, Apple Valley agate, carnelian.
Next column: coprolite, ocean jasper (low grade), Ron Coleman ranch quartz (tumbling grade).
Next Column: Texas quartz various colors
Next Column: Texas chert and flint various colors.
Here is my best reconstruction of the polished stones. These really polished nicely. A few late stage cracks but that is not unusual. Somewhere along the line a few other rocks snuck in. I thought I had kept them all by themselves but I guess not. There is one extra quartz rock and some of the smaller chert/flint ones I am not positive about.
Group photo trying to keep same arrangement as the unpolished rocks photo:
Closeups of some. The bands on the second photo (large chert) didn't show up until the rock dried which I thought was unusual.
Thanks for looking and thanks again Dillon.
