Well last night in Yellowcat. Absolutely awesome camp site. Snow capped mountains in the distance, just to the right and lower stunning canyon back side of Arches NP. To top it off a short stroll from camp is a hill that is absolutely covered by agate. Big one's, medium one's and tiny ones. I left tons up there, so come get some. Three LFRB to send home of great stuff ( that's after I lightened the load) leaving some around camp for anyone who wants it:) Getting a room tomorrow and then off to Goblin Valley and Hanksville. I update with new reports as we go. No snakes today just a few lizards and an Eagle early this morning. Trying to add pics.   |

You're leaving civilization after Green River. If you get in a bind near Hanksville you can get help with a little repair shop on the North end of town called Rabbit Brush Service 970-424-4552 Kathy at Rockin Riddle rock shop on the West end of town is a good resource for information too, and don't forget to snag a Stans burger on the South end of town. Looked up Stan's and showed my daughter the pics, we are both looking forward to it. Onion rings look delicious. What's your favorite style Stan's burger? I always go for the Hanksburger with cheese, onion rings and a cherry/chocolate shake after a hard day of rock hounding. Probably enough calories in that to fuel a squadron of storm troopers. |

At Hanksville now talked Cathy's ear off and made some great purchases. Ordered my Stan's burger 2 x Hank's burgers and drinks. Cool little town Randy, thank for letting me know about it.

Hows your kid enjoying the journey thus far? She seems to be loving it. She found and purchased with her own money a nice piece of petrified wood and a few other items from Cathy in Hanksville. We've been all around Utah previously, but we both love the dramatic landscapes so... Yep loving it. |

We are in Cedar city for the night and will start our next hounding adventure in the morning. Trying to get to Lavic /Ludlow by Thursday. Weather looks great for that time-frame. Mid to upper 70s for three days. Can't ask for much better than that.

So yet another different flat tire on the way back to camp after a snack run into town. Was able to put the spare on and make it to camp. Rockhounding was excellent and camp was beautiful. Due to rain in the forecast we are skipping the slot canyon hike for today and headed to Barstow for a night in a room and then back at it in the morning.
