Looks like a fun trip. I bet the van is riding a little lower now. Thanks for the trip report.

I know this sounds weird, but I'm really happy for you to be spending this time with your daughter. I sure miss the times I had with my kids and grandkids.

We are close any day, but to share the ups and downs on a trip like this has been priceless. She has really opened up to me and I'm very blessed. Great campfire talks.

So due to rain and thunderstorms we skipped buckskin slot canyon hike, but did manage to visit Valley of Fire state park. We are hitting up Lavic in the morning. Super excited.

So made it to Lavic/Ludlow this morning and was greeted by winds gust to 50 and sand storms you couldn't see the mountains. Reluctantly headed out and then it happened. Two more flat tires. I was not too far out so the spare went on and inflated (somewhat) the other, made it back to Ludlow. Going to limp back in to Barstow with some fix-a-flat and purchase four new tires, as this is an issue I should have already delt with. Maybe my luck will be better with some new tread. I'll keep ya posted. I've met some really cool/nice people so far including today,so maybe it all happens for a reason.

New tires YAY!!! So got that bit taken care of and back to Lavic. This place is crazy good. I'll post some rock pics soon. Just saw really long train loaded with tanks,Bradley's, Strikers, Humvees etc. Met a fellow rockhounder out here and he showed me some pics of stuff he's found out here. Mind blowing mossy jasper multi color. Too 😎

I love Lavic Siding. They definitely have some seriously long trains out there. Would be cool to see one with all the war machines.

The Goldfield cemetery is unique in its headstones that portray a colorful past. Just up the road is Tonapah where it's every bit as interesting.

Well, the weather in Oregon is looking exceptionally cold and rainy for the next week so I may have to trim off hounding/camping. I was really surprised at the temps. Maury at 18° Nope! I think I will do Richardsons and China Hollow and then maybe head to Idaho Rocks. Sure wanted to hit Glass, Hampton, and Maury. Maybe a future trip.
