Is there a dedicated geode thread? Or can I make a main one? One where everyone can post?

This is the sintered diamond blade I got for my tile saw from e-bay. It ships from Hong Kong - came pretty fast. The price has gone up since I got mine 2 years ago. I've been happy with it on my trim saw.

I don't see the blade you mentioned. Can you specify?

Is it different than a regular continuous bade in terms of cutting and safety?

So take the flat edge and run it parallel to the blade? “Peening” is the word they used. The edge of the blade has been rounded and smoothed so there are no exposed diamonds. Using the edge of your file you will “hammer” the rounded edge to be more flat. This will make it irregular in three dimensions. Now the blade will expose some diamond and get back to work. Best wishes

Is it different than a regular continuous bade in terms of cutting and safety? That link is continuous rim. www.harborfreight.com/7-in-segmented-diamond-blade-57551.htmlIs what a segmented blade will look like. I am not recommending this particular blade, although it may work well. Eta Segmented are a little tiny bit more dangerous because the rim is not continuous.

A 7 inch blade for cutting glass has finer diamonds and gives a smoother cut. A concrete blade has coarser diamonds but leaves a rougher cut. The glass blade will not last as long as a coarser concrete blade and cuts slower.(trade off) Both are available at hardware stores and Home Depot/Lowes if you have such. In either case use lots of water(bathing suit wet ) Beautiful geodes. Mini creations.

wargrafix What is better than Grodes? To me it is a geode story. Our best geode story is when we first did a show. My wife decided I had too many rocks and we set up at a Mall show. A local lady (well dressed, 50ish with expensive clothes) came up to the table all excited and told my wife: "I know what these are, they are gonads right?" My wife with a straight face said "no ma'am they are geodes." The lady never realized what she had said. We still laugh about that 35 years later.
