I love tiger iron, but I miss the swirly pattern of yesteryear. It's been a very long time since I've seen any. I saw some today and grabbed it. 8x8 inches. Nice size.
And, while I was in a buying mood... I picked up this morrisonite for 20.
Good day!

This was my very first border wrap. I still have it. I purchased all my cabs back then. This was a winner.

When you said 8 x 8, I got all excited thinking you meant a cube. What a spectacular sphere that as a cube would make.

I was going to put something about seeing a similar Tiger Iron slab just the other day...so I quickly looked up what I had seen...and lo and behold, it's THIS slab! LOL Really nice snag on this one Tela. It definitely is a "memorable" piece! LOL

LOL Really nice snag on this one Tela. It definitely is a "memorable" piece! LOL LOL! It was a little more than I usually like to pay, but it is big and worth it. I've been looking for so long, there's no telling when I might see one again.

Oh yeah, it has lots of gold, too. BUT, nothing beats that hell's canyon, girl. You outdid yourself.

I anxiously awaited this package and I finally got it yesterday. Not that they shipped slow. It's the PO. Anyway, I am over the moon!! I think they look even better in person.
The tiger eye is super flashy! I really love the pattern. The colors are wavy and well dispersed. The red is really red polished up and sandwiched between hematite and tiger eye, it should pop. I haven't seen this quality in a long time. Maybe that's just me... if you know where I can get more, let me know. It makes it worth the mess that is.
The Morrisonite colors are a bit more muted, which I actually like even more. It's a really good example of it since it tends to be pretty dark. Should make a few top cabs.
Since there are so many new ID requests coming up- I thought I would explain what I liked about the slabs. Sometimes it really does come down to eye appeal, so it's good to know what is good about the material. Did that make sense?

rockjunquie thank you for shoring your thoughts! I love hearing what people like about specific pieces because it not only tells me what (some) people want from it, but also makes me aware that not all examples will have that! Eventually I will need to learn to judge/grade my stock for future sales (after id, of course!) so learning these things now will help me develop the right mindset for when I get to that stage.
