Oh I only went up to a 3,000 grit wheel If you go up to 14,000, it will really pop. Do you have a spin-on lap on the end of your machine? A 14,000 diamond pad or either a cerium oxide or tin oxide pad on the end would finish it off nicely. I believe cerium is what jasoninsd uses on his. Jason, correct me if I'm blowing smoke. Sorry for the delayed response... I have 8K, 14K, and 50K spin-on disks for the end of the arbor. I also have a cerium pad which spins on. I like it better than the old cerium on felt pads as the cerium would get into any pit (if the material had them). The pads don't seem to leave any "deposits" on the stones...
