I've mentioned many times I'm not a cabber - husband is for about 6 months or maybe a little more now. Usually when he asks me to post his work, I tell him to register and do it himself. Not to be mean to him, but so he can get the feedback and interact with you guys here - he would really love it. I mean he would fit right in and have so much fun, i wish he would join. So that said, I'm posting this because I carelessly opened this can of worms, and I hope that him getting feedback will inspire him to join. He's funny as hell and super cool and you would love him. Maybe as much as I do? So let's try and encourage this reluctant fool to get on here and talk to people who share his hobby. C'mon D, join us! All the cool kids are here. (he's Derek but we call him D- either is fine by me.) I've never photographed cabs before, and have only the camera phone, so these photos may not be the best but I tried. Thanks for looking! 1. Tiffany Stone 2. Congo Malachite #3 - Variscite #4 Labradorite 5. Tiffany Stone 6. Imperial Jasper 7 Indonesian Palm 8. Tiger Iron (Banded Iron Formation- marra mamba) 9. Parrot Wing 10. Rhodonite 11. Ocean Jasper Edited to add names and numbers by popular demand.

Wow! He has good instincts and a good eye! The cabs are gorgeous! That's the only compliment he'll get from me until he join.

These cabs look really great. I would say the cab photos are already way better than the photos you took for the slabs and the roughs. He shall appreciate your effort

Thank you rockjunquie - I'll make him at the very least read these. Thank you johnthor1963 - I'll pass that along, he better respond to the question or I'll poke him in the eye. Thank you pebblesky - Outside in the day seems to capture rocks best. I'll try to take more photos outside when I can for better slab pics in the future

Some beauties there. They all look good but I'm really drawn to the purple ones, particularly the second purple one. Of course I really like the Imperial Jasper and the Palm too!

He’s a fairly new cabber ? Wow! Gooood job! Inspirational.
Your photos are good as well. Could you number them? Makes referencing them much easier.
Thanks for the show. I hope he joins us RTHlings. Glad you joined.

tribeunited - I would think if you were to have backed off a little from the zoom, it would have helped with the pics. I've noticed better looking cab pics have a "border" of background...and not just the cab as the whole pic. Now...since you said you weren't going to post anymore from Mr. Tribeunited...this info really won't work for YOU in the future! LOL Please let Derek...or D if he prefers since it's quicker to type...that if he doesn't want us referring to him as TU's "other half"...then he needs to join. Tell him, "Man up ladybug!", we're not gonna bite...hard! LOL EDIT - Please also let him know his cabs are seriously great for 6-months(ish) into it!! A couple of those aren't "beginner" type material...and he did a fantastic job!!

Those are amazing! I never would believe that he has only been at it for 6mo. And WOW on material choices! I really like the balance he chooses for materials and shapes.

D has a great eye! Nice job on the cabs. Impressive even for a relative "beginner". You did a good job on the photos, too. I take the worst photos ever! C'mon, D, get your butt in here so we can talk rocks!

A really nice selection.
With all the variety you have been posting, I think it would be mind-boggling to even choose what to cab. I particularly like the Tiger iron
BTW- What is the second purple (#5) ? I find it super nice when people name the cabs, if you know what the stones are, it's extra nice for us (me) uneducated types to learn from.
Thanks for sharing the photos. Patty

Great work on some really nice material. #5 is superb! I also really like the tiger iron #8. The chrysocolla and azurite #9 I really like too. I like all of them. Thanks for sharing D's cabs tribeunited. Nothing to be shy about with cabs like those.

Wow, those are great. Think my favorites are the top one, purple, and the 6th one, green that looks like a Willow Creek or something. Very nice.👍

Soo many nice comments - thanks everyone for showing an invisible person some love. So we tried signing him up last night with a few hiccups. He wanted to post some girdles but we were having trouble getting his couldinary to work on his phone. I am going to try again tonight when he gets home to see if I can figure out what went wrong. We almost got there! In the meantime, I edited the original to add the names and numbers as requested. I'll come back later and at least thank the appropriate people if we can't get him straight. Special note to cabby and realrockhound - thanks for getting silly with it. I think those responses are what made him sign up, he really wanted to say something in response. He's as ridiculous as I am, so that little bit of humor made him buckle. Good job friends
