This is one of my favorite materials to use for doublets. Seeing it with the wax backing confirms just how much the plume "pops" when it has a darker backing!! Thanks. I am going to have to try making a doublet now. Make a big nasty one. Plumes galore 😂 |

Im not telling you what to do, but just an FYI from my experience. When you do doublets, what looks really nice with this material, is leaving a lil space from the tip of the plumes and grabbing a lil more of the chalcedony. So 3/4 of the cab is plume and the rest chalcedony. Really makes the plumes stand out on the backing

I think that when I am ready to do try doublets I will print out pages with blocks of colors to test. I debated loading the pic in photoshop and changing hue, but that’s a pain. Would be easier to just have colored paper to slap it over then look for what material I have in similar hues.

Oooh even better the paint swatches from your local paint shop. |

pauls that’s a really good idea! My default setting is always making things myself (like my quad color mushroom spore sheets) but the paint chips is way better for most people! You can even order bundles or rings of color cards. Could even just use markers to make blocks of color on something, but the paint chips tend to be fairly sturdy. I suck at mentally visualizing things so like to be able to SEE it.
